Found the time to start dismantling Nicole’s SR20 that threw a rod a couple weeks ago. I’m selling all parts locally so PLEASE do not hit me up asking for anything 🙂

  1. My boy Tim bought the motor from you and now I’m about to finish the top end rebuild for it soon

  2. Also yes they only have one valve with the fork. It's to keep that rocker lined up on 2 springs but run off of 1 lobe on the cam.

  3. When you tear down an engine it gets to be a pain keeping track of hardware. Check out RAD Dan Drifts. He has like a tackle box that he dedicates to engine teardown all the compartments labelled. Then when the machining is done and it's ready for reassembly he isn't looking for the ziploc bags he has a bin and every compartment tells him where the hardware is. I've Bern a mechanic in diesel shops and race shops and his way is goi g to be the way I start doing my next builds.

  4. was that water in the radiator? Coolant does cool just a little better, its not there only as an anti-freeze, it pressurizes differently, and that pressure also aids in cooling. And some compositions also are designed to exchange energy faster too. Another thing it does, it helps prevent deposits like minerals, rust etc, which slow the passage of the coolant, also making it just a little hotter as well. I use water just long enough to reach operating temp, and pressurize to check for leaks and to make sure the thermostat opens n fans turn on. After that it gets drained and filled properly. Doing it that way helps to flush out stuff. But you dont want to use 50/50 entirely, there will be some water left over throwing off the ratio, fill it mostly, get it stirred up and test it, use the final jug to adjust the mixture.

  5. Darn! I just got a block that doesn't have a head and it would have been really nice to get that head and turbo. especially cause I was planning on putting in that cam and valve package, 🙁 I went to Tampa to get it too. Lol.

  6. Mechanix gloves suck, oil and fluids still get inside, latex/ nitrile gloves are the way to go, use them and toss them, just buy a 400 pack from Costco and you'll hands will thank you

  7. Put the front on ramps. This will put the radiator at the highest point. It will bleed air bubble better. Another shot would be to use compressed air. Disconnect the heater core lines, then blow them out.

  8. adam seems like the whiniest little ocd I want everything my way little bitch. Nicoles deffinitly just along for a ride on the gravy train lol

  9. Adam, you have to run coolant in a radiator. You can't run just water! Antifreeze increases the boiling point of the water. When water boils, it loses its cooling properties. Run a proper coolant mixture and you'll be all good brother!
