John Leguizamo: More Latino roles needed in Hollywood

1. I'm not paying for a movie ticket until I see at least 4 Latinos in one Movie.

2. Sometimes I feel that Hollywood will never listen it will take another maybe 20 or 30 years to be recognized like the other minorities. How about make a film by yourself? I’m a Latino BTW.

Approximately 1 in 6 people in the US is Latino and they account for nearly a quarter of movie ticket buyers in this country (pre covid), yet they're cast in only 5% of roles in major films– and oftentimes those roles are minor and/or reinforce negative stereotypes.

28. You can expect that about 25% of roles should be filled by hispanic/latino people since that is their population percentage of the US. Forcing anything above or below that percent is what should be looked at. Don't go out expecting that 25% of the population should have 50% of the roles. Doesn't work that way.
