  1. Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee the singer of the country and pop hit Looking for love in all the wrong places were also there. All of them are 80 plus expect Johnny Lee but he’s 77. It was selfish of the country Music Association to have the event in a physical way like that. By the way, that performance of looking for love in all the wrong places by the rock band was terrible.

  2. Younger people might think this is the only time Charley was given an award. I'm glad to say he had many during his lifetime 😊

  3. I agree with those who say it was about time but in all honesty, he was happy to receive other awards like Country Music Hall of Fame honor, Grammy Lifetime Achievmant, Male Artist award several times so, it's great to see Charley did indeed get other awards as well while he was living. R.I.P. Charley Pride. 🙏

  4. Amazing that a man of color would have 29 number one hits in a genre of music where success depends upon people who the media would have you believe despise people of color. God bless him! His live version of kawliga was the best of all the covers of it.

  5. I can't comprehend that the Great and Legendary Charley Pride passed away. I just cried and cried. Angry that this stupid covid virus was what took him. Charley, Thank You for all the joy you brought to so many people including my mother and me. God Bless You Always And Forever. Heaven has just gained an Awesome voice to join the Choir. You will always be loved and cherished Forever!!

  6. 😢😢😢😢😢😢💕💕💕💕

  7. I grew up on a farm where we brought the crops in during the summer. You could always count on the latest Charley Pride hit on the local radio station. I don't think we should fuss too much about whether he caught covid-19 at the CMA's. If anything, we should acknowledge that an 86 year old man can still have a life worth protecting. RIP Charley.

  8. I am so glad he was honored before he died. Rest in peace sir.💜🙏🏾

  9. The only jewel in the crown in country music à colossal contribution an unmistakable voice of velvet and gold a rare and priceless talent may god take you to the eternal light of heaven where the Angel's can kiss you good morning r I p to country music's giant amoung legends

  10. I refuse to believe he is gone. He was amazing last fall when I saw him perform for 2 hours without a break. But he did not look so good when he performed and received his award last month. Love love Charley Pride!!! Thank you for sharing him Rozene. Bless you and your family.

  11. Rest In Peace Charley Pride 🙏🕊️

  12. R.I.P CHARLEY PRIDE🙏❤️ Kiss an Angel Good morning 😇🎵❤️

  13. For everyone saying that he should have gotten it many years ago from what I'm seeing the award has only been given out since 2012. So relax and be happy he got it. BTW Tony Jackson should have sung with Mr. Pride instead of Jimmie Allen.

  14. I had the honor of a chance meeting with Mr. Pride at Bush Airport in Houston a few years back. What a gentleman! I can honestly say I am a life-long fan. 'Kiss an Angel Good Morning' is the first song I remember hearing on my parent's car radio over the Memphis airwaves.
    Congradulations sir and
    God bless.

  15. Long overdue!!!! My best memories of my childhood are my dad singing and dancing to his music making Sunday breakfast! I love you Charlie Pride!

  16. For those saying it's about time lol. Kenny rodgers did not get it till after he died. George Straight still has not gotten one. Charlie Daniels also after he died. He got the award and deserved it. But saying it's about time is stupid and race baiting crap.

Just praying for your sins to be forgiven, and saying the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer will not make your sins that are red as scarlet be white as snow. In this time of disaster and pandemic like COVID-19 Fathe God is calling you now to come before His Word, and be guided into all Truth through the Spirit of Truth, and truly wash away your sins. 3

  18. This award is long overdue! But happy he finally got recognized for his contribution to country music and opening the doors for other black artists who wants to sing country music🌟🌟🌟🌟
