Good work
Is there an assembly video for this? Thank you
I recently tore down an ‘85 305 CID Chevy with 290k miles on it. It was still running great, just leaking oil like a sieve. Only .003†wear in the cylinders and the bearings looked great. Performance shop said reboring wasn’t even needed, so I just cleaned up the short block, rehoned, re-ringed and replaced the stock pistons. Installed a mild cam, double gear timing chain, new lifters and heavy duty oil pump. Removed factory ECM and Rochester feedback carb and replaced with MSD electronic ignition, Edelbrock intake and carb, ceramic headers, and converter -free performance exhaust. Now she runs beautifully, has gained about 50 hp and sounds like a stock racing car in my fully restored ‘85 Firebird. I love these short block Chevy engines. I’ve already owned bunches of them and completely rebuilt two 327’s and a 305. Piece of cake. Treat em right and they run forever. I currently have a 5.7L Vortec in my 1999 4WD Tahoe with only 62K miles on it…..purrs like a kitten, but pulls like a mule. I’ll keep that beautiful truck going until I’m six foot under.
I personally would have removed the ridge hone wTree.. New rings…Mains and rod brings Mich77…and re do or even hand lap valves. .put a nice bump stick & lifters in re assemble…using same cam brngs…that engine was not driven hard nor far…just me…unleaded ex valves are tough mammas…
do you have any plan on HEMI engine
These help so much when I can watch an learn at the s time ame
That’s not a earthquake .. what brand is that ?
hay i would love to meet up with you and you could teach me a few this about this
i just had my 350 5.7 rebuild from the crank on up..about 3 months ago..and its blowing blue smoke out the pipes i got about 2000 miles on it now and im using quart of oil about 250 miles i pulled the plugs out and #7 has lot of oil on ,that spark plug on the threads only..tell me what you think
I would love to see him build an engine using this block.
good tear down man.
Next time just loosen the nuts for the rocker arms and just move them. It makes enough space to take off the push rods and head bolts without having to completely take off the rocker arms.
I’m 16 and I have a 92 k1500 and when I got it the previous owner gernaded the hell out of the 350 that was already in it and if you know a thing or two it’s hard gernade a 350 but the cam was snapped in 5 spots but we had to take that 350 out and we hand nothin but basic wrenches and hand tools but we got it done
Eric, if you put 6" casters on your engine stand it should clear over the top of your cherry picker legs
Bolts to back of block 3/8-16
im years behind but I need that elvis clock in the background for my garage. Great video ETC!
Glad my 5.7 is older…and not a Ca engine …. tear down is quick and easy… no special process for power steering pump, A/C, or anything else… GM got stupid with some of their designs over the past 20yrs…..
I cant believe you got the manifold bolt out so easy
I just bought a spare truck for my 98 chevy k2500 5.7. I engine in my daily head gasket is gone got piston slap going on and torch converter isent very good but only has 160k on it. The engine I wanna rebuild has 225k runs amazing but I wanna put a new engine in my daily. Should I even bother or just bye a create motor
Good video. Thanks.
ETCG, Don't know if you know this or not, but that broken aluminum coolant connector near the rear chain connector…. drill out the aluminum and pipe tap the intake and install a 3/4 pipe thread brass fitting with a barbed connection. Then you can use std 5/8 heater hose and worm drive hose connectors and do away with that aluminum mess. So then if your heater core leaks it easy to bypass the core to get you home with a flat tip screw driver.
That black impact driver is a beast what brand is that???
Like the 4th time i watch this. Never gets old.
I am temped to take this engine block and put my marine parts on it and run it to the ground because we all know AUTOMOTIVE ENGINES DO NOT RUN WELL IN BOATS !!!! 🙂
Great working through it and with good humor
The icy pump immunophenotypically risk because height proximately work failing a addicted mist. purple, noxious apartment
I'm loving this. Pops took good care of this truck.
Is that an lt1?
This is me talking to myself as I’m in the shop working on BMWs lol
Just bought a 79 Z28. I wanted to better understand the engine. No I am no mechanic and just wanted to understand better what I am to actually to maintain or have maintained for good working order.. I appreciate this education. Thank you.
Personally, I've always believed much of the difficulties in
engineering were INTENTIONAL!
I used to get greasy doin' this kinda' thing…It's a Kick
watchin' someone ELSE toil away.
Nice job, Car guy.
What year motor and how many miles?
I hate those stupid pulleys man
“My nut fell out… I feel weird sharing that with you†😂
NO SERIA. MEJOR. LAVAR EL MOTOR. COMPLETO. ANTES. DE DESARMARLO. PARA QUITAR MUGRE GRASA Y DESPUES. DE LAVADO EL MOTOR. PROCEDER. A DESARMARLO. CREO YO. SERIA. MUY. BUENO. PONERLO. EN. PRACTICA. ASI. CUANDO. LO ARMEN. DE NUEVO. YA ESTARA. LIMPIO. CREO. YO.
HAY THIS IS A FREAKIN GSR xD……. DROPS A CYLINDER AND PISTON AND ROD ON THE GROUND….. GG
Any advice. I own a 95 Silverado with 5.7.. Same engine. Every time I put it in gear D or R it dies cuts off turns off.. What can could be the problem..??
Do you do work for ppl?
How many miles it was on the engine before you rebuilt? Thanks.
Looks like my 92 350 tbi. Hahahha

Jk fram isn’t the worst

Pongan más videos de porno es lo que más estusiasma.
I need to purchase another shirt!!!! Mine has fallen apart. Great video once again. It's strange seeing you tear into 5.7 chevys. But I was hoping that you had the same front end bracket as my 88 model has. All the parts hang on it and bolts into the block…I have no idea what the name is???
Absolutely love your vids bro! But this is 'Murica. It is not a 5.7 it is a 350 sir. Lol
Eric you’re the best I’m from Texas and I love to watch your shows thank you very much to how to take apart Chevy engine rebuild keep up the great work
my husband likes watching you ,, no foul language good attitude ,,my husband name is jack he doing the same thing with a 350
