At a superficial level, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is a very simple product. Take one of the best Android phones of the moment and slap in a 5G modem for even faster connectivity.
But there’s actually a lot of nuance to this device and the network on which it runs. Like any first-generation in tech, there are trade-offs that aren’t always obvious at first glance. So do you need a 5G phone in 2019? And if you do, is this the one to get?

Very well explained the video friend.
I want to know if you have the 4G bands: B2, B4, B7, B8, B28 please ???
Currently I have seen it for sale and I would like to buy it, but first I need to know if it is compatible with the 4G bands mentioned since these are the ones used in my country.
Greetings from Peru
The lack of android 10 and delayed updates are a deal breaker alone. As a EE customer with the 7 pro 5g I have been waiting for android 10 but still no luck. If I could get a 4G version only on EE, I would.
I don't think I want to hold a phone to my ear that is connected with 5G
Every 6 months OnePlus release their new phone. The value of this phone is shit..
What they don't tell you is theres no fucking support for it after buying… My device is absolutely shit and 💯 the worst customer service received on any product…ever
Can i run 4g or 3g on 5g model or it's only 5g??
Woopty doo.. can it make phone calls?
as a oneplus 7 Pro 5G owner on EE, I would recommend against buying this phone. 5G users are the last to get version updates from OnePlus, have been excluded from the Android 10 beta and will likely get Android 10 long after all other OnePlus models. All this for a premium price and significantly worse battery life. Avoid and get the 4G model instead.
I won one yesterday
Can't wait to see it releases 5g model so I can buy a standard model in a lower price 😀
I'm just wondering if i can use EE 5G mobiles with Three UK? Are they using the same frequency? They got slightly different bands for LTE network. Does anyone know? Three got wider coverage at the moment and just one phone available right now.
Just go 5g with Three or Vodafone since they offer unlimited 5g plans. EE isn’t unlimited so its eating so much data not worth it.
I have 2g in my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge because everywhere it has wifi
Ok so with regards to the cost of using 5g from what I understand Vodafone from the 10th of July will be offering unlimited data for £30/month. Now I don’t know if that includes 5g data.
Anyway, if you have a 5G phone data speeds will be greater if your in the right city at the right place. Otherwise if you have a 4g phone then that’s more than adequate at providing solid download speeds over 4g. So should we get a 5G phone. I’d say say if you travel between cities or your city has 5g and you need 5g speeds then yes. otherwise just be content with the better download speeds on a 4G phone. But that’s just my opinion!
I have OnePlus 7 pro 4g if 5g launch widely in the world then can I able to use 5g network on my oneplus 7 pro 4g
OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Got Updated With OxygenOS 9.5.5
seems you're only focused on 5g speeds as the only reason to get 5g. You mention data caps. So you plan on watching movies 10x as fast or listen to music 10x faster? Doesn't make sense with this data cap argument. You want to download the movie quicker so you can watch it on the plane….you're not gonna download 10x as many movies because you can't watch that many anyway. Same with music. Or whatever. Data caps are only a practical issue when you do a lot of file transfers…torrenting, etc…
Why is the Androidcentral shop offline?
@Android Police
In 6 months time, the 5G phones (esp. here in the USA) will be priced lower and the kinks would have been fixed providing consistent and faster speeds.
Actually, 5G is often being used for Upload, just it’s 40MHz TDD so you wouldn’t expect particularly high numbers. Samsung S10 5G’s field test mode shows this…
meh 5G is unless 2021 useless, im Happy with 4G/4G+ in my Oneplus 7 pro ^^
Does the 5g Model with EE, come with Dual Sim?
Great video.
Why cant you say E-E properly? ðŸ¤â€Â
I can’t wait to get 5G on an iPhone ðŸ‘ÂÂðŸÂ»
I would wait until 2022 when 5G phones are affordable and the network is fully deployed..
Still way too early for 5g
Not true 5G until the download speeds are at least a consistent 1Gbps or faster. Probably will happen when 5G is widely available
It's not. True 5g will not be here until 2020, and even then it will be limited. Right now people are using fake 5g.
It takes time for YouTube to render the many resolutions and it starts from the smallest. 360 is always available before 1080p+.
5G
5G will be needed no earlier than 2025. Now it's useless.
Maybe by the end of 2020 or in 2021, 5G will be worth it. It’s still way too early.
I need 5G for 360p???
Hmm those speeds are what I get on 4G regularly in Denmark oh well
360p?? 🙄
360p represent!
