And now we put the Galaxy S4, which looks like the top performer in benchmark tests, against what now used to be the top device – the Google Nexus 4.

  1. regardless of any benchmark, the nexus 4 is the smoothest phone ever. I went to best buy to use the s4 and i have to say, its a bit laggy. it has a better screen and specs but at the end of the day, it still lags behind. The N4 is the best phone to date… i challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

  2. in fact nexus 4 probably can run better than s4 as ive seen lag on the s4 in some videos. Touchwiz really slows down the s4 when compared to pure android on nexus 4.

  3. Everyone obsesses over benchmarks. Point is both phones are fast. What it really comes down to is look and feel. The Nexus is a much higher quality phone, and stock Android is more attractive.

  4. get the htc one because u already have 2 nexus devices plus the htc one has the best android skin almost as good as stock android on the nexus.

  5. thanks mate I think I may go for the nexus 4 because it is still an amazing phone and I don't need the latest tech and the price is insane so yeah im gonna go for the nexus 4

  6. It comes down to price, the Nexus 4 has a huge price advantage and is still faster then almost any other phone. If you must have the latest tech be prepared to pay almost double the price for the plastic S4.

  7. nexus 4 compiled with the newest toolchain gives you 22.000 in antutu without overclocking. with overclocking 24.000+. gcc 4.8 + graphite has already been pushed by google for the android 5 release, that will still push it up higher. overall these scores mean not much, over time n4 will hit 25.000 with software optimizations which is what updates will bring – but in day to day use it will be faster without a doubt because touchwizz bogs these cores down.

  8. Samsung is going all the way with touch wiz. They seem to be slowly burying android under their own os. I prefer android so I will go with the "pure" android experience of the nexus 4. As for the galaxy 4, let's hope that the u.s. doesn't get a watered down version after all the hype which happens with alot with most new phones. Both are beautiful phones.

  9. Yeah I think HTC is finally getting down how to make a clean, smooth UI. But I gotta say, despite the fact that TouchWiz is…..questionable aesthetically Samsung have definitely put a lot of work into it and it has come a very long way

  10. I'm still going for the Nexus 4 performance aside. First of all, it's a Nexus device. Always got immediate updates from Google. It looks unique and familiar at the same time, by unique I mean look at the beautiful "twinkling" on it's glass back and familiar because of it's so Easy to use OS. S4 is powerful and a S device, a successor to the successful S3 but it will also be overrated like the S3. I mean the Nexus 4 is a Hot device, but not overrated. Octa-core is awesome but quad core can do.
