Ads with kids is a bit of a roll of the dice
So you have to pay them extra after purchasing their tablet just to enjoy it without commercials on it. You can’t be serious.
I’m so glad I saw this video, definitely not getting a kindle that’s for sure.
Recently I got a new Kindle Fire HD 10 and I paid for the ads free one thinking that all ads would be removed, but that wasn't the case. When I called Amazon the person I talked to told me what ads free was and I was a bit perturbed about it but now that I watched this video I'm glad that I got the Kindle without the ads.

So you can't change the lock screen wallpaper on any he fire tablet ? That would be a deal breaker for me.
You are making the comparison difficult. Turn on 2 fires, one with and one without special offer and let use see exactly what the differences are. The new HD8 gen 7 without the special offer has a lock screen, but you can change the background picture. My biggest issue is unless you trick or jail break the tablet you can't up load google apps, which lots of websites want you to do.
I just got a Kindle fire hd 8 and its the one with the offers…. However I've never seen an offer. I hope they don't see this hahaha

I see mo problems with special offers, you may even get a few bargains and they're not intrusive, only on the home screen. PLUS, if you don't like them you can just unsubscribe by paying the difference in price for the different models. A matter of choice I suppose.
Both seem to have dead pixels, I'm hearing that many have this problem, so annoying!
There's also notification ads. These are the most annoying.
