you can tell that the nexus one beat the droid in every test, speed wise. i'm talkin about a 2-3 second difference.

GE is all GPU-based, and he's running a Live Wallpaper on the Nexus One. Turn that off and retry your test. GE is not very CPU intensive, and pretty much every 'test' you said was even favored the Nexus One. As someone who regularly uses BOTH of these phones, EVERYTHING on the Nexus One has been much smoother. And the N1 screen destroys the Droid screen, your settings are off.
