This man is literally BLEW HIS DOORS OFF to break this FWD Volkswagen 1/4 mile record! Going 8.53 @ 175mph in a front wheel drive GTI – that is NUTS! We can’t imagine how much work, and time has gone in to this car to get it where it is now. Congrats to the owner for putting on a show and breaking records! Hell yeah!

  2. In Brazil the preparation of cars and vw engines has several records.
    The engine after 4 cylinders is prepared with 8, 16 and 20 valves.
    In Brazil, Vw are the kings of front-wheel drive.

  4. All the people commenting from Brazil saying they have faster VW's but those aren't street cars. Those are shells with a VW engine & you use traction bars that double the length of your "car". They barely resemble a golf anymore. It is still very impressive & respectable what you have accomplished.
    However this Mk3 is a street car! Running mid 8sec! That is very impressive. This Mk3 deserves just as much the same praise & respect. Long live the 07k.
