  1. @RastaMan699 AC diagnosis is often more complicated than people give credit, with that in mind I recommend you take it to an AC specialist to have it checked out.

  2. Hey eric, you do a great job on youre vids & you been helpfuel. I have some question. My Air conditioning works at times & at others just goes on frits and dosent. The vehicle is a 2000 VW golf, the a/c compressor is locked up, the wiring on it seems good. What do i need to check in order to see if its gone bad & need replacin or its just another problem. i would really appriciate youre advice.

  3. @Hawkman64 To be honest I don't do too much of that work but I hope to cover it at some point. My friend at MotorzTV has some videos on that if you want to check out his channel he's actually very good.

  4. how about some stereo install tips ??
98 honda accord maybe …… amp installs ?? head units?
    thanks love the channel !!!

  5. @FITVANITY11 Those are famous for door lock actuator problems. However before I went there I would take the inner door panel off and inspect the back side of the door handle and make sure the metal rod that goes down to the latch is working correctly, you can lift the handle and watch the lever move. Next, adjusting door strikers is tricky, I should do a video on it. Check to make sure the mechanism is working correctly first.

  6. @nightmathzombieethan @EricTheCarGuy Yeah I did the "preliminary measurements" but then I'm apparently supposed to put the top part of the carb back on and back off the adj. screws by 1/8 turn at a time till it starts to falter, then turn it back in like 5/8 or something. I'll have to test out the shut off valve now that you mention it….

  7. Any other words of wisdom you can give are greatly appreciated, I haven't met many/any people who have worked on these, and even though I've taken my car to "experts" before , they still didn't know what they were doing and messed up my idle mixture screws (Which are apparently supposed to be set from the factory, and left alone.) They got it to pass smog, just barely, but I don't think they did things properly! Everything else on this car that's smog related is pretty much new!

  8. @nightmathzombieethan I did not know that. Most carb kits come with a measuring tool that you can use to measure the drop and the float height, your just going to have to guess I suppose. In my experience however the float level doesn't really change or need to be adjusted unless there is a crack in it or something. For the most part I've solved just about all problems with those carbs by fixing vacuum leaks or replacing the shut off valve. BTW I might have a carb for that car with a window.

  9. @nightmathzombieethan Anyhow, I DID get it running today and I was able to do my timing thankfully. My exhaust still smells like something's wrong but thankfully i just started my "emissions" class (Studying for my ASE) and i'm gonna throw her on the 5 gas analyzer to see what I can find out. She's 2 years past registration so I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't see any police! Take care!

  10. @EricTheCarGuy
As much as I trust your knowledge i'm afraid you're wrong on that one! 🙁
The 81's (At least the 1.8 liter Ca models) don't have the sight glass, there was a special dealer tool that was supposed to be used… The 80, 82,83 models had them though… I really do wish you were right though! Anyhow, no offense, not trying to sound like a jerk (Even though I'm sure I do). Thanks again!

  11. @nightmathzombieethan There is a window on that carb BTW, hard to see but it's there. Good luck with the car and thank YOU for the comments.

  12. @EricSeymour77 I have a Snap on, don't even bother with the 12 volt get the 18 volt. It's OK but there really is no substitute for air tools.

  13. @EricTheCarGuy Good to know I'm not the only one who knows the "joy" of working on a 3 Barrel Keihin! It's real fun trying to adjust floats with no window!LOL Anyhow, due to your advice I'm gonna just focus on the timing and leave the carb alone for now! Thank you so much for the advice Eric!

    You Sir, are THE man.

  14. @bowlingballout I figured I'd follow suite with all the other "popular" youtubers when they get popular and start a new channel. Seriously I have more stuff to impart that I don't want to mix up with EricTheCarGuy.

  15. @nightmathzombieethan It's not a good idea to mess with timing unless you need to. Yes you can mess things up quite badly if it is way off. Watch the video I did on adjusting timing. As for messing with the carb same thing, those carbs were awesome and really didn't require too much adjustment, mostly they had issues with shut off valves and leaks at the base gaskets, that's about it. If you changed what the Honda gods did for you you may suffer their wrath as a result.

  16. Thanks for the heads-up! Will sub shortly! Now, I have a question for ya, if you'd be so kind I'd really appreciate it!…

I was fiddling with my project today (81 Honda) and going to set the timing. I messed up and managed to "adjust" it before I turned it over.

  17. A little background though: It's SUPER LOW on gas, and has been sitting for a long while, the last thing I did on it was make carb adjustments (Float levels and Idle mixtures) I went through all the "proper" adjustment procedures (According to online sources, along with the factory service manual) and it was running like a top.

  18. Then today I messed up the timing a little (before attempting to start it) and it wont stay running. If I hold the throttle down a bit it'll run (at about 2000rpm) but it seems like it's running super-lean (I'm also getting a loud "suction noise") and I know it's not flooding, I can barely even smell any gas in the carb).

  19. So I guess my question is: is it possible to adjust your timing so much that it stalls out completely? (I barely turned it, maybe a 1/2-3/4 Cm at most). Or do you think my problem is simply carb or fuel related? I intend to drain the tank and refill it with some GOOD gas (It's been sitting for about a year, and only run every couple months).

  20. I just thought maybe when I fiddled with the timing I threw everything off, and it's only running under throttle cause the vacuum advance is "making up the difference". For all I know my fuel filter is just clogged as hell!?
So whattya think Eric? I really appreciate any help you can give me! Oh, and I know i talk too much, but I like to give people the "full picture".
