  1. Some guy just changed my oil he told me about this. I changed my SPs and never knew about this thanks 😀

  2. 😎👍🏻 great video

  3. Huh, I didn't realize that hole is how you are supposed to widen the gap; I've always just pushed it further along the measurement ramp. I've had so many of those spark plug gapping tools like seen in the video, because they are cheap and I always misplace them! 😀

  4. Dear Chris and viewers, I have installed different type of Spark Plug than OEM ones on my car, the gap were correct
so will I have an issue?

  5. I wouldn’t recommend those disks, though. They’re known to be inaccurate – sometimes almost even by .01. Feeler gauges are much better

  6. Thanks! I am on a 2-week quest to get all the info on everything before replacing mine. Problem is that I cannot get a hold of the gap intended for my car with any certainity and am paranoid to have it different than what the manufacturer intended.

  7. when you check the gap number once you get "resistance " were do you check the number at the edges or the middle of the spark plug side electrode ?

  8. "gently push down" Sir you damn near shit yourself trying to push that down XD lol. but anyways, i thought you were supposed to use the feeler gauge to set the gap, so anyways i mangled my gapper… i thought that circular hole was so you could attach it to a key chain… boy, don't i feel like a dumb ass lol.

  9. Watching this for the first time in 2020, is it really a ChrisFix video if he doesn't start with "HEY GUYS!"?

  10. Thank you for this post!! You got RIGHT TO THE POINT!! Watched 4 other "How to change a spark plug" to get a refresher course (it's been 30 years since I did that) and the other 4 merely edited out the gapping part. They actually edited out a lot! SMH

  11. Using one of those round gap adjusters is like shooting yourself in the foot. It is inaccurate … need to use a wire gage. I checked my spark plug with a dependable wire gage for a .044 reading. Then I checked my sparkplug gap on the round one and it indicated .039: in the ball park but not accurate enough.

  12. i have the same gauge as you, and my engine recommends 1.0 to 1.1 inches or .07 to .08 millimeters. Is it me or did they screw up the measurements? Had to search for an hour but I found that the correct gap is .044 inches or 1.1 millimeters. They switched the two terms, and even if you do that the inches is still off by a mile

  13. excellent your videos there are only two that might be of great help for your subscribers including myself HOW TO FIX A BACK DOOR LATCH AND HOW TO FIX ABS IN MAZDA B3000 WE REALLY APPRECIATE TO HAVE THOSE VIDEOAS THANK YOU ,BLESSINGS

  14. “Make sure not to touch that area” lol rubs it dozens of times haha jk man. Love your channel been following for years ❤️

  15. @chrisfix just saw this video, got to say your videos have come a long way in 7 years. I've always loved your enthusiasm thanks for making such great videos!!!

  16. ….. if you bend the ground electrode it will loose the parallelism with the "live" electrode. I just tap it gently and the "live" electrode will slide down
