Well it’s finally over, I’m able to walk away from this truck for a while and hopefully do some easier stuff for the next few weeks. Taking off the intake manifold was a big help as you can see so if your thinking about doing this job I would highly recommend removing the intake before removal.

No professional would hook to pulley bracket to lift.
Man bro! I so wanted to jump in the screen to help you with that transfer case! Great job.
Man you sure need a vehicle lift for doing that kind of work. Your neck must be killing you.
Were did you buy that engine from? Please and thank you
Should have made a gasket ball peen hammer and gasket material
Yeah you should just buy a valley trail boat right down in between the intake on the heads
just like they're thinking for the pickup tube o-ring and nuts on the bottom side you got to drop the oil pan when there's a threaded hole on the other side and you wouldn't have had to go figure really great
So I realize this was nine years ago, but I'm just now seeing these. I've seen a lot of your newer vids, but I just did this same swap with a couple friends. Only difference is that there's was 2wd so it was a little bit easier. They gave me the old engine to rebuild and my research on it brought me here. Before I got to this one, I was thinking "why didn't he take the intake manifold off?" Anyway, you've come a long way since then and I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for what you do.
Nice video! I would of disassembled the front suspension. In order to lower the engine and support. That way you can lower the whole thing to the leg of the engine hoist and wheel it out. That's just me.
You need ground monkey, they work for beer, food, favors owed. Ground monkey job is hover around engine watching clearances and guiding back of transmission.
Where did u get ur engine from?
For some reason, you sometimes make me think I'm watching Devon Larratt.
Wow! I am tired just watching this. Good Job! I hope I don't ever have to do this to the one I just bought today.🤞
"Take a mental cigarette " I like that. LOL. I gotta use that sometime. Took an engine out of a van once then put it back in. Son of a gun took 2 hours to wiggle it in. Then took 4 hours to get the engine to mate with the transmission. Mind bogglingly painful memories and yet I would recommend just about everyone should try it once in their lives.
Thank you Eric
I’d remove the transmission if it was a 1970……
If you had the tilt bar you wouldn't be mucking with blocks of wood
at 15:40 thats exactly why i pay people to do this stuff. LOL
Clenching my ass cheeks watching him put in that transfer case.
I have a problem c I pulled a motor from a esclade. 6.0. and put n a 5.3 motor timing components are different
. Have a question on that motor when do you know that the PVC valve is bad
I love the fact that you work alone.
The transfer case appears to be lightweight, is that true?
whats the ticking noise ?
For 130k + them valves are spotless
What a fantastic video and great work!!! Thanks so much for posting, Eric! Impressive work!!
Where did you purchase this motor?
that is one big powerful dude… though I would have like to seen him tape off the intake ports LOL
How did he keep track of all the screws and bolts?
Eric was excited about 10k subs back then. He has 800k subs now. Damn, this guy had come along way. Started watching when he did the heater core flush video. Keep up the good work. ðŸ˜â€Â
I wonder how this truck is running now.
you did very good my friend
Much respect, Having a engine replaced. Feel a lot better about what I'm paying, this is a shit ton of work.
is there just 3 bell housing to engine bolts on each side of the transmission? Not one at the very top of bell housing?
damn …eric has some serious strength seeing how he relatively easily lifted that transfer case back into place. most people use jacks when doing that shit. its so ackward in that position.
orale he did his best Mang" ,next time take your time mijo"first time tricky second time easy ,
Power steering priming tip, no revving/engine off, you fill the reservoir up and with the wheels off the ground just cycle the wheels back and forth, it pumps the oil through, and just keep the reservoir topped up as you do it, at some point it will just remain the same level and its done.
Can you reset the number of mileage after replacing the engine?
how much cost for that
Hondabond on a Tahoe. You know you're Honda/Acura tech when… lol brilliant!
That transfer case was a booger!
Holley intake!
Brought back memories laying under my Nova with a m22 on my chest. Good video.
im curious to how many miles was on the original motor before it failed?
Ooooh… Love that engine sound! 5.3L <3
Messing with that transfer case just looked super dangerous. I couldn't help picturing it slipping out of his hands and squashing his head like a watermelon.
It would be nice if you showed you putting engine mounts
Good Job
Eric, check out my comment on your Dodge truck engine swap part 1 about your floor issue. I watched your tahoe swap before your dodge series and I was wondering what you were doing trying to get the engine to the tahoe lol. Keep fighting the battle!
