Soft gas pedal? A stretched out throttle cable in a Ford or Mazda can cause that.Take a look at your throttle cable. See if the pedal moves up and down and has “slack”. If so, your throttle might not be opening all of the way so you are not getting full power. If you floor the car the throttle might only be open 80%.
Watch the video to see how a few wire ties can restore this lost power!

I bought a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT recently. When I would accelerate I would almost have to floor it and felt like I was getting little acceleration. I come across this video and did exactly what he showed and it worked! Ty
Mann I wanted to hear a heyy guys chris fix here
Quick question how many vehicles have you owned in your lifetime
If you can't adjust the throttle cable anymore by using the correct procedure it means it's stretched beyond.
Throttle cable tension test should be tested by use of a gentle push force with finger on the cable between the cable mount bracket and TB linkage. Must have slack clearance to eliminate jammin/ binding, high idle etc. Dangerous if you don't follow the correct procedure more so can alter the cruise control function and sensory of the throttle position itself.. again very dangerous!
Wrong that is incorrect! the Correct procedure adjustment should be made at the throttle cable mounting bracket itself (locking nut and adjustment nut)
Am having a problem with a 1993 mazda B2600. It is starting pretty alright but when i starting it's producing that knocking sound and losing power!what could be the problem
Is the only way to do this with zip ties?? I noticed there’s a lot of slack in mine I was just wondering
How much power did yu gain
Ya no thanks I’ll fix it the right way dummy
I did this to my 2003 mustang. I was hoping it would bring up the gas pedal a lot but didn't. However there was a big difference in the acceleration. Thank you.
I was actually hoping for HEY GUYS… CHRISFIX HERE…. AND I'M GONNA SHOW YOU……
Thank you. This is exactly what my 94 B2300 Mazda 120K miles needed. Pretty easy to do once you remove the seat.
I believe you can adjust the the throttle pedal Cable free play. Its done on the throttle body side. Seen Ericthecarguy do it on older Acura
Thank you i hope this helps me my Ford won’t go above 3k rpms:(
why am i just getting recommended these old videos ive never seen before?
I have a 2011 ranger, 4.0 and I went out to see if I was having this issue and lo and behold I do, im gonna add my zip ties tomorrow, I can tell the truck is kinda not accelerating like how a 4.0 should, especially since my truck doesn't have a spring. So much I have to look into, I thought I had a perfect stock truck, the previous owner left me a mess im barely finding
So thats why the vtec wasnt popping lol
Pretty damn slick. That's like what we do down south called shade tree mechanics.
Video idea: Fixing an electronic throttle.
Damn, I was about to change the whole cable, luckily the local auto parts didn’t have it in stock.
Thank you imma do this when I wake up
