Once again I team up with BBB Industries to bring you this video on what to look for with your belts and pulleys. So if you have a noisy belt you might want to perform some of these checks first as it may not be the belts fault.

  1. Man you just saved my girlfriends car from throwing a belt and breaking a pulley. My idel pulley is bad as hell. it has chops in it and it is worn down like in the video

  2. Thank you. I'm having squeaking issue with my 2008 M45 and I'll have to look at those pulleys and belt. Just as you said it could be the reason I have a check engine light that goes on and off.

  3. i know i’m a little late but my problem is the ac one doesn’t spin 😳 do i just have it on too tight ?

  4. Aside from being good at what he does, I really find his voice sexy. 😝😝😝

  5. Sorry if its a dumb question. But how do you align a vbelt? My b2000 alternator seems to be like 1/8th inch too far back. The belt is noticeably kinked

  6. Hi Eric just watching a video about car belt what you just explain in the video sounds like problem in my car at the moment I was wondering if you could help me i leave in Redfern NSW can you recommend what should I do boy if you know anyone close to me area I can take my car into it thanks mate I appreciate

  7. A power steering pump will act up on a loose belt generally before anything else will. It takes more belt tension to run a power steering pump, and not all belts squeal when they're loose. Sometimes they'll slip unnoticed… until you turn the wheel and the steering pump hangs up yet everything else seems ok.

  8. I have a question,i just change my bad serpentine belt on my 07 Toyota 4runner and place a new one on. I notice later that day my power steering pulley moving in and out so i want to know if thats normal or what's the issue??

  9. This really helped me out in a difficult desicion! (It squeals only when the wheels are at max angle) so I thought I’d wait a while!

    After seeing this I won’t wait! ;=)
Thanks a Lot Eric! Splendid video!

  10. thanks, you are often very detailed in your explanations. thanks so much for the warnings, about how a belt pulley or tensioner might lead to symptoms like the alternator not charging properly.

  11. So if the tensioner has a slight vibration, is it considered bad? Or could it be that the belt is worn out?

  12. Help..Serpetine belt wont go on!!!!! Belt has same amount of slack with tension as it does without When I release the tension on the belt the Crank pulley doesn’t move/rotate Please tell me that’s normal **07 pilot

  13. Went to start my sister's 03 Corolla and the battery light went on. I shut the car off and inspected the serpentine belt. It was halfway off the alternator. I basically grabbed the belt and it basically came right off! Had it brought home on the "HOOK".
Should I attribute this to a worn belt.(Only about 37K on the vehicle)? Could a bad idler pulley cause this? Any help would be appreciated. (I try do to as much maintenance on my and her vehicle as I can. I have a large inventory of tools for a DIYER.
Thanks for your time and the videos. I am a subscriber for about the last 8 years. Love your presentations.
I hope you and your family stay healthy at this time.

  14. I have a car that all the pulleys stop rotating when I turn the steering wheel, and the brake and battery lights come on only when the steering wheel is maxed out to either left or right side, as soon as I release the steering wheel the pulleys start rotating and the battery+brake light go out. I've checked the condition of pulleys and belts and all look good, and I've tested the battery and alternator and they test good, what could be the problem? Again, the pulleys stop and brake+battery light come on only when steering wheel is maxed out to either side…any thoughts?

  15. I wanted to ask a question on how can I check the alignment of my pulleys, the water pump pulley is in between the power steering pump pulley and the front crank pulley, the water pump pulley is sticking out further than the twohow can I check my alignment of the police also the belt look like you're sitting far back on the idler pulley is that a problem
