We get to see plenty of awesome cars in Australia that we don’t get in the states, but we never thought we would want a mid-size SUV so bad! This Ford Territory comes with a turbo 4 liter inline 6 (the barra) FROM THE FACTORY! With a few modifications, you get what you can see in this video. We love that this thing RIPS while not being a crazy complicated build. Bigger turbo, built trans, more boost, stock motor, no back seats, and BOOM you’re running 9’s! Thats crazy! It’s a shame we don’t get these in the states, but what a treat to be able to experience this thing with the great people in Australia! Thanks for watching everyone!

  1. Mixed feelings about the ford territory.
This car is a beautiful piece of work and rightly has many admirers. So much power.
The Territory is a good family SUV that is comfortable and has lots of potential for performance (seen here).
I've always been a ford person … just more comfortable. Reliability is mixed.
Perhaps the biggest flaw with the territory is the suspension. The front lower ball joint in under tension not compression and the various bushes wear and are a hassle to change.
My weekend will be spent dealing with radius arm bushes (press out). Steering rack should be replaced (leaking seal). Shocks to be changed. In the rear , there's the 3 diff bushes, the trailing arm bush and a couple of other bushes. All of which require the rear suspension cradle to come out.
Some might argue that this is to be expected and are consumables.
I suggest that the design is both inspired and cynical. It certainly offered something different when released and sold well. But is was only a rebodied BA Falcon. I think the design was hurried.
It is frustrating to own and enjoy (mostly) a design that is 80-90% there but has some irritating flaw. I also own 3 BMWK100s – great bike … except they vibrate (can't be eliminated) at highway speed.
Still, part of me just love the BM and my wife's f'ing Ford Territory…and my Holden Rodeo
Best bet is to get the Barra motor and put it into something else.

  2. People think oh it’s just a Ford territory the soccer mom car But Oh No it is very different the Ford territory Turbo Is an absolute beast
    Barra the world❤️

  3. When Forza horizon 3 released back in 2016, I was disappointed that the Territory want in the game! Still good game but, it was set in Australia, WTF

  4. For any Americans that are interested in this model, Basically early 2000s FORD Australia took the Falcon floor pan and build a SUV on top of it and it Took off big time, it basically started the SUV craze here that is still going, it first came out with 182kw NA 4.0l inline 6, then a 240kw turbo inline 6, then a special addition with 270kw hipo turbo inline 6 and later a diesel V6 , these shitters are as common as assholes lol.

  5. This dude and his work shop used to work on my mates cars flat out, there was some awesome results and some not so. In the years past and the magnitude of the professionalism of the staff that have been employed over the last few years to become one of the most professional and exiting tuner workshops in my neck of the woods is an understatement, good luck to your business Stathi and im sooooo proud of Jade to become that JDM mech that he loves soo much

  6. 180kilowatts is the wrong answer. The Ford Territory turbo was 245kilowatts off the showroom floor. Not sure why he said 180😐 Even when the first Territory was released, the non-turbo Barra was 182. This was later upped to 190kw in later versions. 😐

  7. I've got one as my daily. We love it. And its loves to go fast, have to keep an eye on the speedo or use cruise control. Great for overtaking (when no cops or cameras around) – gets up to 170 from 100km VERY quickly (instant lose of licence over here) – speedo says 240km but I havent done that yet (no roads long enough). So need to be careful when boosting in this beast. Even with a full load (7 seater). And they are 245kw (loses a lot before gets to the wheels) from factory, without mods. I also have the XR6 Turbo & the Terri is MUCH quicker but I love driving both. Oh and I'm in New Zealand.

  8. When Ford gets their heads out of their asses and decide they want to build sedans again, they should go with these rear/awd platforms running the Barra 6 in the USA. This thing is a beast!

  9. I say kind of looks like the Forester. Ford's 2JZ, nice. I don't know why they didn't bring that engine to the states. Love the way it sounds. He's lucky he didn't flip it 👍. DSS says they make axles for anything

  10. @2:29 if he would have kept both his hands on the wheel there he could have had a shot at saving that… but no…. two hands on the wheel is for grannies n such… right? stupid drag racers who only know how to drive in a straight line..

  11. Correction… From the "factory", the Territory Turbo made 240kW ( 322 hp ), with the option of upgrading to 270kW ( 362 hp ). From the "factory", what do they make now?… nothing, because we have no bloody "factory" anymore.
