This is probably one of the most popular questions that I get so I’m happy to bring you this one because I know it’s going to save me some typing. I may have missed a couple of things but I believe I’ve covered the basics on this one so this video should give you more than enough to start with.

  1. an 08 Townd and Courntry I thought I had a suspension noise as well until i saw this making the exact same noise on the right side… and it was the Righ Side Engine Mount… solved the issue.. thanks for The Video

  2. "When I'm beating on stuff, I like grabbing on different components."

Me too bro.. 👋🤣 but on a serious note.. thank you as always! Trying this on my Odyssey next.

  3. I hit a really bad road in my 2001 Nissan Sentra which I’ve never had any problems with but it’s a very small like car not the best suspension system like my Honda accord, anyway now it’s making like a clunking sound in the back like on the right back tire and it will go away but if I had another speed bump or something I’ll hear it again I don’t know how to explain the noise but it’s like a clunking grinding sound. What could it be?

  4. I am kind of stumped , would be nice if you had an answer or a thought or even answered back but most youtubers dont bother so i know that's wishful thinking , but who knows maybe i will get lucky …anyway i got a 2000 v6 mustang and i got a clunking noise coming from rear i think …im pretty sure …anyway i did the push up and down test and checked out my shocks and they look good and the push test seemed fine but when i push the rear end from side to side i hear the noise , almost like a clunking …anyway some insight would be great …love the channel man

  5. I'm so happy you found the problem. So many times garages just start trial and error replacements at owner expense, and the problem STILL isn't fixed. I've also had shops find the problem, or make a problem, send it back until the owner is so frustrated with being nickle and dimed, and then the shop offers to 'take the car off your hands' for a song and then resells it. The corner shop did that to a friend and almost to me until I figured it out.

One of the first clues was his two mechanics would shoot each other an embarrassed and uncomfortable look like: "He's doing it to another customer". I'd talk to them, but they wouldn't meet my eyes and couldn't give me straight answers about the repairs.

  6. I have an 03 element i have changed just about everything except the control arms and struts/shocks. I have a rattling noise(similar to exhaust rattle) when going over bumps but can feel it under my feet while driving kinda like something hitting underneath below me feet at the same time as the rattle. First appeared after having lower ball joint replaced but it keeps getting worse(been about a year since replacement)

  7. Video is awesome!! I spent the entire morning tightening bolts, replacing broken trim clips, and inserting foam insulation between bumper pieces. I finally fixed the noise after 6 months of looking….and have no idea which it was.

  8. Bought a 2009 chevy impala LT car used. Don't know the history. And don't know what to look for. I i do have a transmission mount as well a a engine mount. When i changed out the engine mount there was no mount left. Completely gone. After one day the clunking and rough ride was back again. Do you think so long riding with a bad engine mount messed up my suspensio . and transmission mount?my car rides really rough and i feel every bump on the road.

  9. Guess you whre driving when doing that steering wheel test. Lots of peeps do this when the vehicle isnt moving, really bad for the steering column. THen they wonder why the powering steering brakes. I rewatched, dude how come you yank the steering while not driving?! THats puts a shitload of pressure on the joints and what not

  10. My mk4 jetta. Noise is driving me crazy. Replaced several parts already that seems to the eye is due. Still testing. Suspecting struts, but i see no oil. Mines like 5 years ols. Replaced with oem

  11. Hey Eric! I have a 08 toyota sienna minivan FWD I get a vibration or shimmy when I give it gas, generally starting at 43 mph if I let of the gas it goes away. I had tires rotated and balanced twice. Still does this when I give it gas . Any thoughts thanks

  12. My car only squeaks when i drive at low speeds an when i take my foot off the pedal or turn right. The sounds usually gets quieter when i make a left turn. Whay could it be?

  13. Hearing rubbing and squeeking noise when turning left and right. Had struts, ball joints, stabilizer link replaced recently but this feels like it's something to do with steering. 2015 honda Accord almost at 200k miles

  14. I just got 95% smarter diagnosing abnormal car noises… super informative well worth the time. Thanks Eric for taking your time to do this.
