  1. Use at your own risk!! I had to do a recovery because it bricked my phone! Ha! Just kidding! It's common sense guys, I've been doing this since I've had the phone. Very poor design Motorola. I think they were too hyped up on the idea of the Docking Station than just simple charging. Sounds to me like that's their idea of profiting more from their customers.

  2. Come on Motorola Engineering 101… Do a simple 3 week DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Error Analysis). Or even if you want to be real lazy give the phone to a few college kids for a month and let them text you what they found. Come on…

  3. @washnmcr the photon is a very great durable quality bulid its actually better then EVO 3d I took my 3e back Its a ugly phone og EVO looks better .but I will have this or galaxy s II

  4. @mak450 Good point. I hadn't thought of that. I think you are right. It's a subtle way to drive people to their docking options.

  5. For those that don't believe it's in the manual, you can read for yourself. Just search for photon user guide manual.
    Quote directly form the manual:
"If you need to plug an HDMI or micro USB cable into
your phone while it is resting on the kickstand, you can
also rotate the phone and rest it with the micro USB
and HDMI connectors on the top."

Looks like someone needs to follow standard forum guidlines and RTFM!…hahahaha

  6. Motorola says this can be done CLEARLY in their manual!…LOL..You can even stand the phone up vertically!…That's not a fix from the forums, it was Motorola!

  7. @ecrouch77 Seems to me like it's one of two things, and eitherway a deliberate decision: They made it this way and didn't care knowing it would help make a case for their docks, or the arrived somehow at the conclusion that people just wouldn't care and would just lay it flat. Then again they put those ports there on everything they make, so maybe it was just a lack of foresight in the early design stages.

  8. That's a nice work around for the time being but the hinge will quickly lose the rigidity required to maintain the weight of the phone and the power cord. What do you all think? Can Motorola make a simple hardware change to fix this or do we just deal with it?
