r12 is still accessible. in fact most vapor cycle systems in aviation still use it.
It is important to distinguish between liquid ounces and ounces of weight. The refrigerant is being measured by weight not by fluid ounces (volume).
The old saying, "A pint is a pound the world around", is only true for water at standard temperatures and pressures at the surface of the earth.
thanks for the info
very nice information Eric love your Vid's!!!
good one, thanks…
1,2,3,4 ,,,, rev up your engines,,, its time for Eric the car guy channel..that would be a pretty cool jingle.
When u vacuum the system dose the liquid refrigerant in the liquid side boil out or it has to be removed some way? (Not knowing if that's the moisture u were talking about)
FYI it is illegal everywhere in the states to do your own A/C system. That's why there are licenses (Clean Air Act and EPA)
It's very true that most every mechanic have their OWN ways to get the job done.
You're definitely right about AC issues not being resolved simply or quickly in some instances. I had a leak in my R-12 system, so I changed the condenser and receiver-dryer. I was then told and shown that the system is not leaking, but there was a clog; most likely, the clog was in the expansion valve. So, I'm headed back to the shop for a third time to hopefully get the "all clear" and have it recharged.
Check the ducting.
hi, erick i have a subaru forester 2010 model. when i turn the aircon on, the fan on the left side does not give cold air but the fan on the right is blowing the normal cold air. do you have any thoughts on this? thank you
thanks Erick
I think your AWESOME! for all the knowledge that you share. Now that I got that out,I just wanted to say I'm replacing the whole a/c in my 1987 BMW 325 ,did some research 'tons" found out that the easiest place to get all your R-12 needs on ebay.Question I'm assuming my low side is located closest to the compressor? there's no Indicator like a "blue cap".I found a new formula that can mix with R-12 or 134a.Its from MAXI-FRIDGE.the website maxifig.com. can you let me know what you think.thx!!
When I worked at Advance I used to do everything in my power to completely discourage people from doing it themselves.
