Did anyone figure out what those four pins on the center right are for? They stick out a bit and keep my back cover from forming a tight seal to the case when sliding it in.
Does the phone need the back?
Yeah lets throw it around face down with no screen protector . Dumb ass
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!  I would have never ever figured that out!!
"Let's make it impossible for users to swap out the battery AND create a single point of failure for the entire phone in one easy step. We're geniuses!"
Wow, you did that with ease. Was a real pain in the ass everytime I tried to remove the back. I found it works better with a paper clip. Great phone tho, I love it.
Ohh… I just slide it out like a regular phone didn't think about it
I agree I broke my old phone because I forgot about that and had to reorder another since it literally fell apart
such a stupid fucking phone feature
How do you "reset" the phone if you can't remove the battery?!?
So you can't really change the battery at all?? Like if it dies?
thank you.
No, they use different types of networks.
Thanks for posting this! What a stupid concept! 🙂
Can you unlock a droid 4 and use it on t-mobile?
Haha, so true. I really wanted this phone but went for the Captivate Glide after hearing about the battery.
@bl4ck0ut5k4ter or you could just wait 50 minutes and the battery will tire itself out. fucking ridiculous.
My DROID 4 battery only lasts me 3 hrs with low use.
@aa72on I'm with you, I loved my og Droid I think I shed a tear when it broke lol, now own the Galaxy Nexus & I love it
whoever roots this phone and goes into bootloop is soo fucked… MOTOROLA whatchu doing man..
ugliest phone.
the Droid is really sad now I loved my Droid OG to death but all of its brothers suck! Happy with my galaxy nexus
@adirm18 not really, the biggest they get is about the size of another phone, but not a big thick phone like a Thunderbolt or something. I guess if you're at a premium for pocket or bag space it won't be a perfect solution, but they're fine for alot of people.
And I can't comment on that last part, I've yet to hear of a reset failing on an android device, but the forums may say something different.
Them some meaty hands
@mak450 carrying an extra battery is small and can fit in the wallet(that how i carry mine)
while carrying an external pack is really big and bulky
as for the reset, i used to have an iphone 4. and it got stuck very often.
most of the time power+home would help but once it didn't and i had to wait untill the battery would end then charge it again so that i could use it
Uhhhhhh… No Thanks.
DAT RING
@robnaj But this way you can replace the cover and 'clip' a extended battery on for longer life…. can't do that nicely with the iphone!
They should have done what Nokia and Apple do
Half the reason why I stay away from Moto.
Thats … weird
So you can remove the cover , but not the battery !!!
Maybe they found it safer that way , Instead of having it like the RAZRMAXX Duo
Im sure whatever it is they got a reason for it
YUP thats dumb. this plus the continuation of the locked bootloaders. lost my business moto.
That's the dumbest design I've ever seen.
@GreenLatern22
for real.
@adirm18 Yeah you can, a decent external battery pack is like $30, and the cool thing is they don't become useless the moment you upgrade to a new device.
And you can reset this, and the Razr the same way tablet users do. Hold down the power button and the volume down button. So really, it just isn't a big deal.
Sounds like Phil is getting tired of reviewing all these phones. Show some enthusiasm bro.
FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Every fucking weeks Droid this Droid that common. Making the same bull! with very little modifications. How simple it was when you can buy an extended battery and enjoy your phone all day. I'm sick of Verizon and Motorola
Wow Motorola making things very difficult now, no more removing batteries I'm guessing jumping in Apple bandwagon aren't we lol. I don't buy Motorola products anyway Samsung all the way.
@mak450 actually its a very big deal
Since smartphones and iphones have a tendency to drain battery
And if its non removeable then you cant have a spare one
Also, a phone can get stuck to a point where you cant even turn it off unless you take out the battery
