If you have an Android phone that has a microUSB charging port, you may want to consider picking up the BlackBerry Premium Charger as a spare charger. With 1.8amp charging power, it’ll help rapid charge your phone. Not all devices will support faster charging, but the ones that do will take advantage of it and no harm will come to those that don’t.

A lot of members of the Android Central team use this charger on their microUSB Android (and other) devices. It retails for $39.99, but you can usually get it for around $23 at ShopAndroid.com.

  1. HTC's Original chargers already charge much faster than other chargers, is this faster than the one HTC devcies come with it?

  2. If you only get 12 hours out of the Max you need to put the phone down…and 12 hours is still decent way better than any other smartphone in a slim form factor

  3. Actually, the battery life in the Maxx isn't all that great. I am lucky to get 12 hours out of the phone. And yes, I am referring to the Maxx not the regular Razr.

  4. But, there's got to be some reason manufacturers aren't including this kind of charger out of the box, right..?

  5. won't using high ampere charger will shorten the battery lifespan? i have galaxy tab2 charger with 2A charging power. if it's okay, I'll use it for my xperia play which comes with 1500 mah battery

  6. the tmobile rpid charger uses 3A and has 2 usb ports as well, has a removable usb cable and it looks around the same size. have i made a mistake?
