No, the iPhone doesn't have NFC and it can't even transfer files over bluetooth…
Does anyone know if the iPhone can do this? (without jailbreaking) ;-p hehehe
No clue, because all phones that have NFC also are compatable with the WiFi Direct technology.
Take note Apple. At 400 dollars the galaxy nexus is killing the iphone. What will happen when the price of galaxy nexus drops to $300 or $200. I can see clearly the end of contract phones by telco and demise of iphone. It's no surprise that Apple has decided to pounce the nexus.
Ah, okay, I stand corrected 🙂
S Beam is WiFi Direct. It is a direct WiFi connection to the device with no AP involved.
What is the different between s beam and android beam?
its called patents.
Bluetooth Beam is much more practical than S-Beam. Like if I'm at school and wish to send a file to a friend but there's no wifi connection around.
does android beam work between ICS and JB devices? say, SGSIII (ICS) and Gnex (JB)? I know you mentioned that they both have to be on JB, but why is that? i know that Gnex on JB cannot utilize S beam so that's out of the question but why not android beam?
Wifi direct establishes adhoc networks between devices, without the need for an external router. Its similar to Bluetooth as a peer to peer protocol for transferring data, but at higher data rates.
Tablet wouldn't be online all the time? Bear in mind that the Nexus 7 is wifi only. You can still transfer files from phone to Nexus 7 when the latter is offline 🙂
Kewl.
How for you know what he recorded it with?
when can I get the update for my gsm
Wow… u are using a SGS 3 to film this video..
Any thoughts to why Google didn't update beam to utilise wifi direct… Bluetooth can be considered universal across devices… But the higher rates of wifi direct would be handy
the strokes…
YEEEEEEEY
