Fixing Noisy Power Steering On Your Car. Noisy Power Steering and Heavy Steering Wheel Problem? This video is a how to/product review on how to fix a noisy power steering pump. Out of nowhere my power steering pump got really loud and I thought I was low on fluid. In reality, my fluid is just really old and I need to flush it but in the meantime I used a power steering additive to stop the whine and shudder of the power steering pump.

Here is another product that works to quiet the pump since it is hard to find the one I used in the video: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000930N0U/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000930N0U&linkCode=as2&tag=chri0e2-20&linkId=PR7CP6VDW553YLRY

  1. Honestly, why bother?? Just flush the system and put in quality fluid. If that doesn’t fix it, add some detergent cleaner additive and repeat. Else: you need a new pump.

  2. have you considered seaFoam TransTune. it can be used in Hydraulic systems like power steering and transmissions. I haven't personally used it in power steering system but have in auto Transmission. It really helped my Maxima's Shifting. Good prod review vid . I haven't thought of this since my maxima is getting a little power steering noise in the morning. it goes away after a warm up. I just topped off fluid, it seemd a little low. It uses ATF also (I use Castrol Import car ATF or Valvoline Max Life full Sync ATF)

  3. I’m having a problem on my Mercedes when I turn full lock is the only time it will squeal will this product work on a benz?

  4. Replaced my pump today and it came with 2 o rings. One is a hard white plastic ring that i cant figure out where it goes! The second was a regular rubber ring that went on the high pressure line no problem but i don't see where the other goes!

  5. I just watched the flushing power steering pump that was post in may of 2016 and then watched this one so did this not work???

  6. I bought a 5.3 Isuzu Ascender for $300 that the previous owner was tired of dealing with leaking coolant issues. In hailmary attempt I used a tanning lotion for power steering fluid. Coming from Colorado to Florida. Bout 100 miles into trip, PS pump started hootin n hollerin. Of course it had sprung a leak as I was going through the mountains at the time and nearest town was 100 miles away. So I knew the pump was going to burn out anyways. Unbelievably, the tanning lotion sealed the leak, lasted not only all the way home back to Fl, but it has lasted me for 2 years as a daily driver here on the space coast. Which actually leads me to why I'm here in the 1st place. Chris, I'm looking for a power steering pump replacement video. Ehhh, yes it's to replace the power steering pump full of tanning lotion. LMAO But two years was wayyy more than I ever possibly imagined and I'm not even upset about having to replace it at this point for as little of $$$ that my wife and I paid for the SUV and it have had lasted me this long. I'm unable to find a power steering pump replacement video that you made. Actually, not sure if you have one but I woulda put money on you having done one already had I not spent the last 30 min searching for it myself. If you do have a video for a PS pump replacement, can you share the link. If not, can you make one please. Your videos have gaven me so much help over the years. Even if it's not the same car I'm working on at the time. You provide enough knowledge to give me guidance and inspiration to get whatever vehicle I'm working on at the time back on the road. P.S. I live 40 min from Cocoa Beach, Fl if you need a vehicle for the video and by chance ever wanted to to visit the space center. We're not on lockdown down and flights are dirt cheap rn… Just sayinnn…. Lol

  7. Tip……………..∆ use Redline synthetic ps fluid drain completely. I do not believe in using synthetic on my oil changes I simply oil change with conventional oil every 3500 k but got my power steering redline was the only product that worked …

  8. That pump sounds Kaput dude. Even after it noisy 😃

  9. For anyone that has an old ford/mazda, consider looking up an in-line power steering pump filter. The OEM power steering system never had any sort of filtration throughout the entire system so the dirty fluid would eventually cause the pump to whine.

Anyways, once you have the filter, cut and splice it in the return line to the pump after flushing the entire system. Hose clamps are a must! Then use some good power steering fluid like lucas. NO MERCON (Unless you feel like it.) Maybe add a little stop leak or the bottle in this video of you can find it.

This info will save anyone here some headache cus it did when I learned it haha.

  10. Are you receiving money from that power steering fluid company. That stuff is bull shit like your conclusions on whether or not it worked. It sounds exactly the same.
