After replacing the starter on this 2006 Honda Odyssey I found out that I didn’t have the correct navigation code. This meant I was locked out of the navigation system. After that I decided it would be a good idea to make a video of how you could retrieve a navigation code should you find yourself in that situation. So, if you’ve lost your navigation code, this is the video for you.

  1. Eric I watch your videos. You are my go to for my Honda 2005 oddessey. Mine problem is that my “please check your disc’ is showing, I put the disk in and it still is not working

  2. I paused the video right at you showing the id card, immediately went to my glove compartment and luckily found it! Your video was a great help!👍

  3. I need help i got an 08 si coupe with navi went to the dealer code wont work. Called honda and said go back and tell them reset it and i had to pay 70 bucks. So it worked but now i removed the battery its asking for a code again came back to dealership and they cant activate it now

  4. Press Map+Menu+Cancel to access the NAVI menu when you don't know the code. Then press "unit check" then "NAVI ECU" to obtain the serial number of the navigation unit. No wrenches needed.

  5. do they charge u at the honda dealer to get the code I'm asking because some of the hispanic runned dealers say theres a charge and i dont believe i think they are trying to jip my sis.

  6. Thanks Eric for what you do. Can you tell how to reset user 1 and user 2 info on Honda Odyssey touring 2006 navigation? Thank you in advance.

  7. Eric I just want say God bless you because I did not know what to do after my alternator went out on my Honda Odyssey. It kept on asking for code that I did not know. But thanks you I found it you save me some cash.

  8. Hey Eric, great videos you've uploaded. Can you help with my gathers sat Nav vxh 052c, in my Honda Odessy 2005. It's all in Japanese and I need it to be in English but I'm having no luck, some people are saying you can get a reboot disc some are saying no, can you help, I'm in New Zealand as well, cheers buddy

  9. yeah dude what a hell ? you dont need to remove dvd for navigation to get serial number ,you just press MENU ,MAP and Cancel all together and it will show you menu in which there is serial number

  10. thats a great system i work alot on GM cars and i ve owned GM vehicule all my life and on 2000 and up GM RDS radio when you change a radio from another cars or truck you need a GM TECH 2 in order to pair the Radio with the BCM ( VIN relearn)

  11. Eric on this car you can use the map menu cancel buttons to get into the functional checks screen. From there go to I believe it's function-nav Ecu then the serial number will be displayed on screen.

  12. Annnd… wouldn't keeping this info in the glove box or, really, anywhere in the car at all make your radio/navigation system worthwhile to steal? That's the point of the codes, no? 🙂

  13. Instead of trying to read it with a mirror, why not use a camera? Cellphones take great pictures for things like this. 🙂

  14. Hi Eric!

I ve recently bought rav4, 2004 and I have problem with navigation ever since. Previous owner replaced the battery, and because of that, error "Please insert correct map disc" is really buggin me.
I have a disc that he gave me but it doesnt work

I ve read on the internet that I must insert some LOADING.KWI file on a blank dvd before loading regular map disc..

Any suggestions before the local toyota dealer charge me with 50$ or smth like that?

thnx even if you dont reply 🙂

  15. If the unit ever were to get replaced would be the reason, if say it were to break or something. The replacement system would have a different serial number, I'm assuming it would require a different code than it had from the factory.

  16. Yeah but he covered that in the first video, saying that he doesn't want any power, not even a memory saver, you need to remove the battery cable from the starter, if you have power from something like that it can cause safety issues.

  17. I think they even advertise jump starter packs by pointing out that using them saves you from having to re-enter your radio stations, etc when removing a battery. Surely you have one at the shop?

  18. The garage is in the parking lot of the truck stop. It's clearly visible on google street view. In street view, it has a "For Lease" sign.

  19. Eric, I might have missed it, you mentioned there are reasons why this number/code could change… would you happen to know what are those? Thanks in advance!

  20. I appreciate you help. I'll try to get this data for you to find out if the engine is iddling good or poorly. But let me tell you something, Accords here are rare, so getting this lambda sensor would be a pain. Just tell you that many mechanics still don't understand and don't service ineyected cars at all. I'll gather the data and contact you. Many thanks for your time.

  21. yeah well if your concerned you can change the lambda sensor/s they dont cost that much they should be changed every 50,000 miles. your car could be running lean if its revving less than normal. if you want you could send me your car detail make model engine size and ill find out what the revs should be.
