We’re almost there. In this video we finish up most of the work in the engine compartment and get things ready to start up. Don’t worry, there is only one more video after this one and we’re done. I can assure you it’s a happy ending. For now, enjoy a little more detail work in and under the engine compartment. Here are some useful links for you.

  1. Thank you Mr Eric, I have learned a lot from your videos, great job. The engine you have installed seems the same with the one that I have in my Pontiac Sunfire, 2.2 l.

  2. The gasket for the exhaust flange is that part number 31566 . That is the pipe that connect to exhaust manifold .

  3. Very interestingly to follow the whole process. Having done the same, you can fully assemble everything and simply (temporarily) remove the fuel pump fuse or relay so you can crank the engine to fully oil prime the engine. High tech version of removing the coil wire on more vintage vehicles.

  4. Eric i have a 1989 gmc s15 pickup truck the block was broken when i bought it so i got a juck-yard motor that was the same 2.5 4l engine i'm having problems with it. I got it to idle nice. but then when i hit the gas it back fires back then after that it run perfect at hight rpms. but after i let off the gas it back fires again then idles with alittle gas it has obd 1 and it says doing the time to un-plug the ground for it but i dont how to do that part. can you help.

  5. Eric i have a question on my 2000 s10 2.2 same as the Sonoma you did .I did the headgasket repair my self everything worked good and then got that same antifreeze but i took the head of again and fixed it but it wont start no compression on it help me out what can it be?

  6. Hey Eric, these videos are great. I am just beginning to pull the motor and trans out of my 2001 s10, ( 2.2,  5 speed ) and will be installing this combo into my other s10 truck . 1996, (350 vortec, 5 speed ) and vise versa complete with  wiring harnesses. So should be quite the challenge.  I have done a few v8 s10 swaps before but it good to see what's involved  in a newer s10.

  7. …if replacing the engine due to an overheat, why wouldn't you replace the upper main hose with a new one for preventative sake?

  8. Do you have any videos on replacing the dash lights? I've got the main idea behind it but would love to see someone replace it before I attempt it. I have an 07 Town and Country and my temp gauge light has gone out on me. I've also got a melted map light socket where the bulb fits into and haven't a clue how to replace the socket. If you don't have a video already would you consider making a video on these?

  9. That trucks got a full frame. I think if your unsure how properly jack it up your probably not qualified for this job!
