Nine years ago, I was a junior in high school, and I had just traded my beloved iPhone 4 away for my first-ever Android phone, the HTC Inspire (known globally as the Desire HD). Since then, I’ve been through dozens, if not hundreds, of phones, but few others have made such a lasting impact on me.
Thanks to an eBay seller, I managed to get ahold of another Inspire 4G, and wanted to share this trip down memory lane.

Hey everyone, hope you enjoy this nostalgia trip as much as I did. Hit me with some of your most memorable phones! 🤙
My first Android was Android HTC magic and what stood out was how crappy iPhones were not having features flip phones had in 2005.
my first android phone was samsung galaxy note 3
The EPIC 4G ON SPRINT W/THE SLIDE OUT KEYBOARD
It is also my first mobile with screen touch is HTC desire , ita quality is very high
my dad has one of these in his collection
I owned this phone and echo what you said about the screen size! My first Android phone was the HTC Hero and coming from Windows Mobile (HTC Stellar) It was a massive upgrade!
I got this when it launched.
My first smartphone, and thinking back, I had a lot of phones since then but this was overall my favorite. The weather widget with those home screen animations, the clock widget… it was all so nice back then, HTC Sense was the shit. It was also considered quite a big device, and 800×480 was an alright resolution.
Battery life really was crap but I always had a charger, and back then, I always played games on it like doodle jump since smartphones were a new thing to me.
Now it's smaller than "mini" phones. And 768MB of RAM? Damn 😀
I still have mine, still works.
This was also my first android phone.
Oh yes, the good old days when HTC Sense was one of the best Android UIs.
This was my first smartphone. Before this, I only had a few touchscreen feature phones and of course, Sony Ericssons and a Nokia E51. It was crazy back in the day. Even the resolution seemed crisp. And the weather effects on the home screen were amazing.
Omg this is my first android phone wow 10 years ago good old days
i think sense ui goat especially widgets so good miss u htc come backk
I had this phone it’s still one of my top favorites I’ve ever had!
Still got mine somewhere . It was a brilliant phone
First android phone here also 😠had exactly the same opinion. But my best phone ever was the HTC touch pro 2
I had the HTC inspire and it was awesome till I got a Galaxy S5 and it kinda sucked 😂
My mother got one used in 2012 and used it until 2014 when she bought a Samsung Galaxy S3. Today I have decided to switch it on again so I have plugged it in the charger and after a hour or so it was ready to use. Of course being such an old phone it can't be used daily but when I have installed Facebook Lite I was impressed with the fact that it could still run it smoothly compared to my first phone, a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. The problem is that the battery is many years old so it drains pretty quickly but with a new one this would be perfect for an elder person.
My first Android phone was also Desire HD. Battery life really sucked. I kept it only for a short time
HTC Magic was my first android phone, I guess I will buy it again just for the nostalgia.
This phone was pioneer! The first and trendsetter in Android. My first and the best for sure. Nothing can match it still…
My first android also
How to fix parsing error into this phone ..plz help..
My first android phone was the HTC desire HD and I loved the colorful screen and the weather widget. To this day my home screen looks very similar to the default home screen of the desire HD.
Unfortunately i dropped it in the street and its screen broke in february 2013. My brothere changed the screen and after me, my father used it for a few more years until its battery died.
I still got my HTC desire 4g. Good phone
Me also
I had this phone and it was an absolute pos
I’ve still got my Nexus One which I can fondly remember flashing with SenseUI at one point – when flashing your phone with custom builds was a thing (actually one of the main attractions of Android for me). Pretty sure I flashed it back to stock Android before I struck it in a drawer though.
My first Android phone was Motorola Charm. I love it so much! It has a backtrack, one of the nice features I missed these days
Wait you say on a battery? You do realize that they can explode when bent or punctured.
My first smartphone was the Coolpad Catalyst from MetroPCS. I traded my old cellphone for it. Smartphone technology is so good that I never want to go back to cellphones. Texting was terrible on the cellphone. I loved being able to text with ease on my Coolpad.
First phone I ever got! Probably among the first generation where my first personal phone was a smart phone. Good times!
This was my first real smartphone, it was the first "phablet" to arrive in Canada and I loved it so much.
HTC Hero….
Feels as if hTC falled after they removed that clock widget from their Sense UI.
I had the HTC One M7.. One of the best phones I ever had
To be honest, I think that HTC phone looks pretty awesome, even in 2020!
