  1. You don't want matching lengths on your sway bar links. Set one link to the same as stock length. install the bar and that one link. put the car on the ground and settle the suspension (roll the car out a few feet and then back in) now while the car is on the ground bolt on the other swaybar link by adjusting its length so its bolts on easily. the second link will very often be slightly longer or shorter by putting on the link once suspension is settled it insures you have no pre-load on your sway bar. having pre-loadhas the same effect as having one of your springs be stronger/weaker than the other. also another reason people get adjustable links is because if you lower or raise your car you need to change the swaybar link length for optimal geometry and clearance. that geometry varies by manufacturer but the rule of thumb is when the suspension is neutral on the ground the swaybar arm should be perfectly parallel to the ground.

    I really enjoy your show but having seen a large number of episodes now its clear you have a lot to learn about suspension, alignment, and setting up a car for good and consistent handling.

  2. Hate to say it but BC's (BR series) aren't "high performance coilovers" they're just midrange. I have BC BR's and they're great, but they're no Whiteline MAXG or KW V3. They aren't even anodized and will lock up after a winter anywhere with salt and snow.

  3. when you said "OH" when you realized the suspension was too low, an O'Riley ad came on, so it was like "OH!" "o o o O'Riley's Autoparts" perfect timing

  4. CRUCIAL THING:
    When you are installing coilovers, loosen all wishbone/arm bolts, to let the rubbers move along.
    If you do not do this, your rubbers will be mounted with tension and it will shorten their lifes.

    Also, what I have posted earlier;
    What you should do with the adjustable swaybar end links:
    – Set one of the endlinks to the same length as the old one
    – Set the car on the desired height but leave the swaybar disconnected
    – Adjust the length of the other endlink so that it will fit on there without any tension

  5. You really should set the preload before installing the coil over. BC Racing wants 4mm of preload. The tools provides are 4mm wide.
    BC Racing has a tutorial on YouTube.

  6. Swap bar adjustment is so you can make sure there is no preload from one side to the other as well as being able to move the swar bar and links to avoid binding…

  7. Thank you. This video came just in time. I install my bc's soon and you took away all the guess work. Keep up the awesome content.

  8. You need to go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer and spray it around. Works great. They walk through it and get it on their feet then when they clean their feet it poisons them. It's supposed to be safe for indoor use but I still wouldn't recommend licking your feet after you walk through the shop.
