Lear how to diagnose your “check gas cap light” or a check engine light that has EVAP codes. I also explain how the EVAP system works in simple terms so you can get a basic understanding of what it does.

How do you find an airleak in the engine? I hear it but can't locate it. I can't seem to find a good video.
How many miles should we drive around for? I just replaced the cap for my 03 chevy trailblazer.

Hi
Hi
Gasoline is a strong solvent, but the additives plus dirt from the road/air can gum up the seal on the cap causing leaks. 3 minutes of cleaning with silicone lube and a qtip every so often should keep the evap system intact and functioning for a long time. Once you start paying attention to it, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the gunk builds up, but a bit of maintenance here will save you $ in the long term – no parts to replace and better mileage from less evaporative loss.
But I thought gas caps are used to prevent spill's
I like how 5 years later he still responds to comments
If that was my problem, I'd just cut the wires going to the light xD
If the rubber gasket is getting old, what lubrication would you put on it to help rejuvenate it, or would you just buy a whole new cap?
