Take apart your headlight lenses without an oven. Learn how to safely remove your headlamp or fog light lens without an oven. I show you an easy method to take apart the lens and put it back together so there will be no problems with melting the lens or moisture after you put it back together.
-I made my own oven out of a box, tin foil, thermometer, and a heat gun. This worked great and is reusable.
-You might want to do this if you want to spray paint the inside of your headlight, retrofit projector lenses for HIDs or LEDs, to clean the inside of the lens, etc.

  1. Hi Chris thanks for the video I've realised it was a few years since you made the video, I was thinking would a plastic dash tool work to get the housing apart?

  2. If you have moisture you should just replace the assembly. I watched this video because I had severe moisture but I ended up just getting it replaced and don’t have to worry

  3. Don’t do this. Adhesive sucks to work with. Too little heat when you pry it, prying will crack the plastic and too much heat the heat ITSELF will warp the plastic.

  4. Hey Chris, absolutely brilliant! Worked perfect. Took out of oven, inserted a reg size screwdriver in seam ran around seam once and literally the lense fell off 5 seconds and separated! Thank You
Btw perfect time/temp in oven for my car was/is..

2005 Ford Explorer factory lights, in oven, temp 250 deg ( preheated, put lamp in after oven hit 250 )for ten minutes.
    One time around and open.

  5. Ooh Chris your great 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇳

  6. I've read the list of car manufacturers, it's not a very serious video when you forget groups and top 10 brands like Renault, Citroën, DS, Opel, Seat and you mention Saturn, Scion, Lincoln.😂
