Similar to the story last week featuring UPS and their drone delivery, Ford is taking a look into partnering drones with their autonomous technology. MotorTrend reports it’s called the Autolivery concept and Ford hopes to use their future self-driving vans and drones to get products straight to your doorstep.
The electric self-driving vans will have deployable drones that will fly to your doorstep to drop off your order. Ford says it will hopefully be helpful in high-rise and inner city environments where delivery can be tricky. There’s no timeline on when Ford’s concept will come to life but the automaker says it will have fully autonomous vehicles by 2021. Would drone delivery make your grocery shopping easier?
