On this PowerNation Extra, Ian Johnson host of Xtreme Off Road, goes over the benefits and drawbacks to different types of suspension joints you may want to use on your rig.

For a stock suspension mostly rubber type joints are used. Benefit: The rubber can remove any possible vibrations, great for daily drivers. Downfall: They don’t articulate very well meaning they can wear out prematurely.

Aftermarket suspsensions use mostly re-buildable rod ends. Benefit: It gives you adjustment in the suspension and also designed to articulate.

For a hardcore off road rig, rod ends are usually used because they’re incredibly strong, fully adjustable, and designed for maximum articulation.
