4. hey, just a tip, if you sand down to headlights in circles from 400 all the way to 1200 and then polish the headlights they should come out mint!

5. Put the lights in the oven for a little to draw out excessive moisture and to make the temp difference between the lights and clear coat less drastic

7. Outside temperature was to cold and the paint to hot. That makes the second coat dry quicker than the first coat and pulls it all up making the cracks. Wait longer between coats.

8. It’s called wrinkling. It’s when the paint you use has a reaction with what is on there already.

14. You should of just used the 2k clear and after it dries wet sand and polish them. The 2k uses the same hardener that is in regular auto clear coat

19. You probably don't have much material left in the plastic headlight lense since you did all that sanding. Time to replace those plastic headlights.

22. I had the same issue with clear coat when I used certain kinds. Rust-Oleum Gloss Clear worked great for me. The Crystal Clear and that Walmart automotive section brand did the cracking thing.

23. That’s the real clearcoat like 2k. It’s like spraying from a gun.

24. Try polyurethane for headlights.

25. 2K clear is good stuff. Really good uv protection, and lays super smooth. You guys had something else going on…

26. Don’t clear coat the headlights 💀💀 polish them after a 1500 grid

27. Need to get the lights smoother then use a polish, I go 400 800 1000,2000,3000,4000 then polish, turn like new. I've even started with 100 when they're really bad.

28. yes watching all these cars get built is nice and i enjoy the channel and watch everyday but finish the vr4 or the rx8 before another car . the vr4 was neglected fora long time one a few touch up things here and there

29. I think the cracking is from the plastic that is used on the actual headlight I've had issues like that before with spring on certain kinds of plastic.

31. The mothers headlight restoration kit is always the way to go. I’ve restored some really bad headlights with that.

32. Tbh at this point I’d get a replica of the black part as a decal or a wrap to place above the black part of the headlights and BOOM they’ll look brand new lol
