The great part about the aftermarket world is you can get as crazy or low key with mods as you want. And YouTube channel Jimmy Built has one of the craziest mods out there…a 1981 Honda Accord powered by a Tesla electric motor. In addition, it’s also got a lithium-ion battery from a Chevy Volt, a straight-axle suspension and a wheelie bar. This thing is crazy. And it supposedly can hit 0-60 in about 2.7 seconds.

  1. With today's technology you would think soon and I hope soon for any one company to make independent universal system where u can use brackets and mounts to make fit old school Honda like the 1990-2001 and integra. I would love to have a rear motor with custom fit battery in the trunk good for say 200 to 250 mile range only to keep things simple. Just having the rear put out 75whp each motor would make 150whp instant power to help push the already gas power front engine with a b swap na or turbo example making 200 to 300 front wheel drive then at a certain rpm the rear kicks in and uses all 150whp makes up for 350 to 500 whp depending your gas engine setup
This would yield a great amount of acceleration and help with the 1/4. I know there will be more than 75whp motor like 150whp+ etc. I hope by maybe 2030 someone has it done
I know it will cost upward of $10k to $15k to do such a swap. Love having an Honda eg hatch look so sick but quiet yet does 10sec 😂.

Perhaps keep things stock for smog if living in California and use the rear motor output of 250whp after higher rpm so it doesn't spin out.

  2. Should had kept the car body stock , put back the original bumpers on, put the regular independent suspension and stock 80s honda rims. Keep the Tesla motor in the car and park that car in the parking lot, People will never know it's electric . People will think it's got Original motor with 300,000 something miles that gonna break.

  3. " I don't like the way it sounds"

20 million years of evolution and he still has to Howl at the Moon to make his presence known.

Sound is still more important then efficiency and performance? Wow.

  4. Only interesting part of this is the fact someone have installed tesla components into something else. The car looks horrible, plus it is actually really slow, and is probably very bad to drive. Only function of this video is to maybe find more about this car on our own.

  5. Says he hates the way it sounds
Plays clip of car so we can hear the way it sounds
Puts crappy music over the sound of car so we cant hear anything
