Richard Petty is about as legendary as it gets when it comes to racing. Fans will have the chance to bid on two of The King’s racecars and other memorabilia like trophies and race suits. Some cars on the block will be the 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix which was the last car he drove professionally, 1978 Mote Carlo and the 1974 Dodge Charger that he drove to his fifth Daytona 500 win.
Petty’s hoping the auction will bring in new, younger NASCAR fans and says that he has so many items he wants his fans to be able to share. The cars go up for auction in May and are expected to sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
