After upgrading the brakes and axles on XOR’s Project Creep It Real, there’s one more thing that needs upgrading. That would be the brake master cylinder and booster.

When removing the stock parts, remember to hang on to the stock fasteners. Swapping these parts out is actually pretty simple. You don’t need to find each piece individually, you can purchase Mopar’s Jeep Wrangler Brake Upgrade which comes with a bigger booster and master. Even though the booster is physically bigger than the stock unit there’s still plenty of room under the hood to get the job done.

The booster bolts to the bracket first, then the bracket bolts to the firewall. Follow up by attaching your booster’s push rod to the brake pedal. With the booster in place, you can assemble the new master cylinder. Get started by lubing the rubber seals to the reservoir with a little clean brake fluid. That’s followed by pushing the reservoir in place until you hear it snap in. Drain the old brake fluid completely out and replace it.

Once it’s installed, don’t hook up the brake lines themselves because the air still needs to be bled out of the master cylinder. Last but not least, don’t forget to hook up the vacuum line that goes to your booster. Otherwise, you won’t have any assisted brakes.

All you have left is to hook up brake lines and bleed the lines and you’ll be ready to go!

  1. Too easy. Good information.Since you don't have a brand sponsor on the video, can you recommend a brand/source to upgrade a Ford F250 V10 booster and master?
