On this episode of Engine Power, we start and finish Stage 3 of our Small Block Chevy build. In Stage 3 of our small-block build, our 383 becomes a 406 and gets a centrifugal supercharger to make mega-power.

Man these guys are thorough and wicked good engine builders AND tuners!!!
Please show the whole Tq Hp curve for N/A . Peaks are a bit pointless by themselves …….
Maaan if I had pat as like an uncle or something I would learn any and everything I could from him, he's definitely someone I'd trust to do any kinda of work on my vehicle and I only trust 2 , myself and 1 mechanic lol ,
I would love to have this
I like the tricks of the trade I can learn from other mechanics in this business
I grew up with these old bowtie motors, hard to beat! My brother and I raced them on the weekends, rebuilt them during the week. Won a lot of trophies. My brother is still racing now, he bracket races! Enjoyed your video!😊
6500 that's it.
This Engine should make 7500 to 7800 .
The parts are certainly There.
These guys were struggling to make 1000 hp there’s another video on here with a 383 stroker they made almost 1000 on pump gas before they even put racing fluid and messed with the timing then when they put the racing fluid and messed with the timing it was at 1500 hp but this is still good for the street but they just needed to put a bigger cam maybe 11 to 1 pistons I don’t know there’s another video that the guy does way less and it makes 1000 hp without doing nothing to it just a pro charger in the engine
Awesome video love all the build stages such a crazy small block !
One shot every time Mike says the word now.
We will be the best partner if you choose us. Consider the big horse power, the engine price is really quite cheap. Realistically Mike how much would that setup cost turnkey,,,
Ya…..'Cause every backyard gearhead has the green for a new Dart full race block. 🤣
And then reuse original push rods! 🤣
You make failure look so easy… people think because they are tearing things apart, they are being productive.. until they run out of things to do.. then sell it..
These guys are idiots! Should of purchased 3 blocks the exact same, that way you would have 3 complete motors.. running. And we would still get the point.. what a total waste of time. Taking them apart.. that is the problem with the industry, promote putting things together, not taking things apart, that’s why there are so many unfinished projects
where's this engine??.. I know they aren't still using it so hand it over, I need it lol
Ok we know your good at making power in a v 8 . what can you do with a 2.2 gm motor
Dream motor
There is absolutely no down side to extra ring gap! Do the math. If you even double end gap you loose less than a 0.1% a tenth of 1 percent 🥸
How much does a build like this one cost?
All of these engine build videos are race engines so let's see a SB 383 built for the person with a truck for towing work truck.
I have a 1988 1 ton Chevrolet the 454 is finished, I have a 383 stroker using 6 inch rods / heads with 202 / 160 values / 30 over pistons / cam for towing power that spring of 2023 the 383 is going into the 1988 1 ton for my work truck towing by 30-foot charter boat from home to work at the rivers.
I'm very interested how the 383 is going to work for this job of a work truck engine.
I've heard so much good about the 383 SB I just had to give one a try.
I once had a 350 in the truck, so I have all the pullies and other front SB engine parts to put on the SB 383 for running in the 1ton Chev truck.
By the way great video.👍
If they wanted to make over 1000hp without doing the obvious smaller pulley, remove that under sized air filter. Should gain at least 50hp at that power level. Also 4.5" pulley on that blower is just getting started if the crank pulley is a 7.65" which pretty sure it is by the boost pressure.
Detroit diesel green! Lol
“We did it because we can”
Hell yeah! Builders choice!
That's a lot of money. You just built another engine
"We won't be using the engine part of the engine but this is just a lil rebuild"
