You do know a chrome cover gets hot," right ". Should have used a black cover instead.
The connecting rod on this engine looks like it would make a good paper weight. Just clean it and spray it with clear lacquer paint. Wala paper weight.
😂ARP fasteners on the timing cover and oil pan but stock fasteners for the head bolts
I have a 68 dodge dart 225 but I am missing my crankshaft main cap looking for one
BEST MOTOR, DEPENDABLY ENGINE EVER A MAGNIFICENT 6 CYLINDER EVER,EVER!!!
Jz Toyota block based chrysler slant six 225?
The Ford 300 and Chevy 250's are 🤗 too!
So pretty much just get a crate engine instead.
The accel coil is junk
In high school I had a 1960 Dodge Dart with the 225 Slant 6.
That car was 25 years old when I got it although it had a very kind life.
I never had a bit of trouble with the engine (brakes sucked). I did change the water pump out it was wobbly but still wasn’t leaking:)
A nice steady power plant very easy on gas and enough speed to get on a highway:)
Great engine!
A slant 6 can go a .120 without an issue I got one in the 80s from Auto zone for $550 .
Cilidrada es225 3.7 en Argentina saludos 😊
Why, is my question. Possibly the most pathetic engine ever. They may be dependable, which they really aren’t. A modern 4 cylinder engine will trash the slant six. What a waste of the me.
I heard that the slants will run better with the pistons put in backwards
Mopar is absolute garbage
I had this motor in a 1973 Dodge Swinger
The duster they end up putting this in made 70 hps with it's old engine. They tune this engine to make 132 hps. Almost a 100% increase in power.
Modern motors are so much better dumping money into one of these is just not worth it ….1950s tech ….I don't think so .
Had a 225 slant 6 in a 73 Scamp and a 69 Charger. Good little engine.
You did not Lube that new timing chain
Is a flat tappet cam standard for the slant 6? Or did it originally come with a roller cam?
Bore out the rust
In 1982, got my DL in a '67 Dart with a 273 slant 6. That thing was bizarrely fast.
I had a dodge dart from the 80"s with this engine in it it couldn't gey out of its own way?
They made a slant six boat as well, they're so so so versatile
Lmao locktite antiseize were can I get some of that
I'm so happy to see my favorite Mopar engine is getting long deserve recognition, it's not a hemi engine but I 💕 it anyway.
Had 69 valiant did the same rebuild engine was absolutely a beast you couldn't kill it
I have known 2 slant 6 powdered vehicles in my youth. Both were guttless dogs. To each their own but my advice is engine swap to a 318 or 340 small block. Will be $$$ and power ahead. 👍
Guess the shop did not recommend sleeves.
I'd like to see somebody put one in a rat rod, that would be cool as hell….
The first Slant 6 was actually designed and built by Mercedes Benz in the early 1950's
I had a slant 6 in a 73 Valiant and put 420k miles on it. I junked it because the body was so badly rusted, but it still ran good.
Mechanics 101 but veyr well done!…. Encente job guys!
