It’s Blue Oval boy Kevin’s turn to take over the shop and kick Ryan out as he takes a radical approach to more power by turbocharging his V-8. Hidden under the bed, a tailpipe turbo spins up the boost while bigger fuel injectors and a new fuel management system pump up the power on this big red Ford.

  1. Following Daniels thread having a turbo down underneath where rocks and all kinds of things can hit it water and mud and muck from just driving the truck can clog that air filter, just makes it seem like this was sponsored for some reason. Placing a turbo around the dirtiest part of any vehicle is just plain stupid

  2. WD-40 WAS DEVELOPED FOR ROCKETS BEING LAUNCHED AT SEA LEVEL…WATER DISPLACEMENT 40 IT KEPT HIGH HUMIDITY OUT OF SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS ON BOARD ROCKET!!! DRIES WET IGNITIONS ASAP!!!

  3. Nice. Boost is cool. But showing people a turbo build without atleast a regap of the piston rings is bad. Those ring gaps need another 5 to 7 thousandths so the don't crash into each other and take out a piston.. next adding boost without a camshaft to take advantage of it all? Uhhh. Why? MYbe that's next week.

  4. The money spent should be considered here too. Gm is a better dollar to performance ratio plain and simple.

Also, after talking about the bad welding job in the old exhaust system it seems like you had the same guy do the final welds on the new exhaust? Sliver paint doesn't hide it very well.

Full disclosure- I'm not a welder

  5. I don’t think having the turbo under the truck is a good idea. What happens to it when it gets super hot and you dash through a water puddle or puddles on the road. Cracked housing???? I’d move the turbo to another location for sure.

  6. Wrap the exhaust pipe, or have it ceramic coated. It's the heat that drives the turbo. The gases expand when they cool. You don't want them to lose heat before use.

  7. What happens when they throw the driveshaft out and it beats the turbo to death? Worst placement for a turbo in my opinion unless they install control rings on the driveshaft.

  8. So many convert to speed density with turbo applications. They are better and easier to tune. The maf will help fine tune somethings but it was not explained right

  9. A tailpipe turbo is stupid so much extra tubing and oil lines what happens if it rains and you won’t make as much boost cuz the speed of the exhaust slows down towards the end would of been better with an engine bay turbo

  10. The turbo kit they picked makes me sick to my stomach. Why in the hell would you put a turbo under the truck 3 feet back from the manifolds, and have the charge pipe 5 freaking feet long?!?!? Don’t you guys know that the boots pressure has to fill that whole pipe with 5 psi of pressure and then throw it into the engine? With that much charge pipe the air the turbo is compressing is just diffusing into atmospheric pressure while in that tube until a huge turbo speed comes along. I don’t like the kit y’all picked. Stupid as all get out
