Part 2 of HorsePower’s dual Ford 351 project, as the guys complete the build of a Cleveland engine and then turn their attention to the Windsor engine. Using some original parts and aftermarket heads and intake, the guys transform the Windsor into a better-performing Clevor (or mock Cleveland).

  1. I believe they think most people are morons by watching this garbage and this is complete garbage; why don't you build a real engine a real engine that doesn't use a supercharger or turbocharger or nitrous and yes they get all these things given them for free because it's just the theatrics ! And no I'm not going to be stupid I'm just going to speak the truth now. why don't you build a real engine my 427 was bored 30 over to a 432 12 1/2 / LS6 headss block 2 bolt block and I was going through the lights at 7800 and only with one carburetor a TRC 1020 which it started life as an 8:50 but it was flowed to a 10:20 ; oh I guess It to mention it had an ultra dyne solid roller 720 liift with a set of LS6 heads yes it was all motor no supercharger no turbo no nitrous bulshit all in my 68 Camaro; it was a real Camaro it was a 68 RS SS 396 4-speed and my best passed with the car was a 1078 123 an hour and yes I ran it on race fuel 115 octane and yes it had a the original 12-bolt with 488 It was running on Mickey Thompson 29 1/2 / 9 through the exhaust which was 3 1/2 in with two chamber flowmasters…

  2. Putting a set of 'Australian cast iron Cleveland 302' 56 – 59cc quench chamber heads on a flattop pistoned 351 balanced Cleveland will yield 10.7:1 comps and with a Sig Erson TQ-20 cam and makes a lot of HP in my F250 High Boy.
The 302 Cleveland heads are easily available and inexpensive here in Australia, and an easy way to make good power without spending a lot.
Australian 2V Cleveland's came with four barrel spread bore manifolds on the 351, s and four-barrel 600 Holley style equal size venturis on the 302 Cleveland's so no need to spend on aftermarket manifolds as these flow quite well.
Premium gas and the better swirl patterns of these quench heads along with altered advance curves keeps pre-detonation under control and a good alloy radiator takes care of the heat.
I'm still running the Australian OEM carburettor fitted to 351 Clevelands over here, a Carter 850 CFM Thermoquad and it performs very well.
No need to rev hard with this combination as the torque is more than ample at lower revs for a heavy truck.

  3. "we wanted the Cleveland to be streetable" as they throw an open plane intake on it.

This video is extremely misleading they put a built Windsor up against a mostly factory Cleveland, with less compression, less cubic in, and factory heads. They can't utilize what an open plan intake has to offer with the heads and cam choice. Everything they picked for the Cleveland, none of it worked together.

  4. I noticed you used Hooker Long Tube headers… I am guessing you did the stainless # 6901-2HKR. I need to replace the headers on my 351W in a 69' Mach 1. Would that be your suggestion for headers? Thanks,

  5. This was an advertisement on selling Windsor parts and calling it competitive with the Cleveland. I have a Cleveland in my 67 mustang.. this should be re-titled.. How to NOT build a 351 Cleveland. Sad dudes.. Do better

  6. You guys are morons. You run the cleveland with a single plane, which no one would do, especially with the 4V heads. Then you compare to a Windsor STROKER with clevor heads and bigger cam? Why do I always get sucked into these vids? At least I did not have to suffer through Pat in this one

  7. They put 351C heads on a 351W , Gave it a better cam and air gap intake. For the Cleveland they put the smog 2V and 4V heads and stock cam? with an intake for high RPM. There isn't a engine builder in his right mind that would build a cleveland engine like that!!!!!!!!!!!!! In 1971 the best cleveland the Boss 351 compression was 11:1 and out performed any small block out at the time.

  8. You choked the 4V heads with the 2V style intake. The runner size on the Cleveland intakes between 2V and 4V is massively different. The difference is so great that instead of a ram effect in the head runner, you get an inversion effect.

  9. So you failed twice. First you failed to build a 351 Windsor and then you failed to make decent power with a Cleveland. My advice to you is, you guys should change your professions. Maybe become hairdressers.

  10. They don’t know how to properly build a Cleveland or know how to spec cams or intake properly to the factory heads. They could’ve easily hit the 500 mark with factory stock 4V heads

  11. This speaker's upward inflection on every sentence is very distracting! Who taught him to speak like this? He should pay more attention to the way Joe speaks. The director should have him change his vocal presentation to something that doesn't sound like a roller coaster.
