Finding out EVERYTHING WRONG with our (manual transmission) 2005 Lexus IS300

1. The 2jz's are way overrated for these things, should have gotten a 1uz, heck its pretty much drop in on these.

2. Wat ever happened to this project was it scrapped

8. PSA for people working on Toyota/Lexus engines: When you pull spark plugs, look for a geometric shape on the coil side of the plug, that means it's a factory plug. I had a LX450 come in a few months ago with 300k miles on the original plugs, had literally no electrode left but it was still running semi-decently.

9. I’m excited to see what you guys do with this project. I have a 2002 IS300 Sportcross. I have an all aluminum 6.0 LS that will be going into this chassis.

21. Suprised no K&N, FIGURED it'd be a no Brainerd on the LEXUS. Tossed one on mine and man did it help alot. Mines no 5spd, but God I love that car…..

31. lol glad i sold mine.. hella problems and headaches. weak ass transmission. heavy ass car.. I rather buy a Supra or a gs400 v8 with all that money dump into that is300/200.

36. I need to refer people to this video when they want to "Argue" about preventive maintenance when replacing a Timing Belt. Letting them see what would be involved to get back in and replace those cam seals, crank seal and water pump when you are in there changing out the timing belt just makes so much more sense after just such a video. Especially on a car you don't know the full history on. Great Video!
