Have you ever wondered why people spend thousands of dollars on a professional detail, paint correction, and ceramic coating? I have, so when the guys at Chicago Auto Pros reached out and offered to make my 2003 Mercedes-Benz E55 look brand new again, I had to document the process. In this video, you are going to get a behind the scenes look at a 36-hour paint correction, detail, paintless dent removal and ceramic coating. You will learn some tips and tricks of the detail trade and even watch me attempt some of this work myself. Spoiler, I messed up a little with the ceramic coating. Grab yourself a cold pop and enjoy the show!

  1. Bro at $3,000 isn't it time to start looking at a whole new paint job? Also it would have been really cool if we could have seen this in the best possible resolution. Instead of that dump "pay for better bitrate" crap. Kinda messes up a whole video, when it's all about the visuals of a car.

  2. It's funny how people spend so much time and money on the shine of the car they forget it'll eventually rust and die. The last thing that will not function on a car is its paint. Go to a scrapyard. Plenty of paint left everywhere. Change the fluids in your car or something. Or feed a hungry family I dunno. Rethink it all. sad

  3. You said “pop” such a tell you are sooooo from Chicago!❤For whatever reason albeit also from Chicago, I always called it soda. I love your vids and although these are old, I’d love to meet or talk to you about cars. I’m currently looking for a car (nationwide) incase you wanna help me. I “baby” my cars. Any used car I’ve ever bought I straight away exterior. I de-iron spray, wash, clay bar and then hand hybrid wax, (I like Colinite 945 a lot- you gotta warm it up a bit but it takes so little, goes on and off so easy, 2x a year and your good!)
What great advice this guy in CHI-town provided in the vid as well👍I once ran a detail shop outta my dad’s garage back when I was in HS (without his permission or knowledge of course, while he was at work😂) I’ve never ceramic’d before but cross hatch pattern obviously is best but I don’t recommend anyone DYI’ing this! If you don’t get it level it’s a whole other job and your under time constraints. I always say…. There’s an art to everything…. An art to component level soldering or even welding for example… (I kinda suck at both lol) but when it comes to detailing….. that’s why it’s called detailing… it all in the detail.
If people are willing to (with no training) buy some shit on Amazon and DYI I’m all about it, but certain things you need is to be really willing to use your own car as a Guinea pig! And another one of my mottos is “you can’t un-ring a bell” …..

So, do what you can on your dime, order parts through FCP Euro, do what you know and are comfortable doing but clear coats and other exterior stuff needs to be don in a sterile controlled environment – one you’d paint in – not in some fools driveway!

  4. Amazing work! Only thing that would have set it over the top would be to apply permashine or a similar product to the tires so they would shine too they look dry. Again awesome work and beautiful car!

  5. Fake video. Tell the truth, he never called you and you 100% paid for his services or you made a video deal to receive his services for free. Don't be a shit YouTuber that doesnt state the actual facts.

  6. 3000 dollar ?? Let me smile 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣good joke , sorry . Even if you would sand the clear coat down to flat with a 2000grit and then 3000 grit paper and do a polish, it will never be a 3000 dollar job…. 😊NEVER
