My first truck was a 1995 4×4 F-150 with the 300ci I6. I would have loved to have this engine in that truck!
Powernation got a question I'm putting a build together would a power max head make less or more power? Also for a farm truck I'm looking for.better economy increased torque what specs on a cam from what I've read no more than 260 duration the 300 is different so a rv cam is no good
Pm😅
I’d love to know how much this build cost especially cause this seems like something for average joe.
Thats it, im putting one in a newer mustang
Getting paint in the bolt holes on the block is not OK.
@powernation – love this so much I’m a do all this to my 300 you guys freaking rock!! Five stars all day
the ford 300 is like the chuck norris of motors
Funny thing about this build… they got the engine from a power washer … It's an engine that has never seen the road or been pushed to any sort of stress. Seems an easy build but still, blowing lots of smoke on the dyno.
I have several 300s. Kohler generator engines. Clean inside and out . Automotive, off highway engines that have no running time and look like New inside.they never ran on gas. Propane only. They are automotive engines repurposed by Kohler as Natural Gas/ Propane generators. They retain Automotive distributors with vacuum advance, automotive intake and exhaust. All under 100 hours. I'm keeping one!
Also, three 460s same description as the sixes. Anybody seen a 312 Hudson Hornet Engine for sale?
I bought an old Ford F-250 in high school when I was 16. I almost didn’t because I wanted a V8 but my dad said “you’re paying 400 dollars for a truck that only needs a clutch and has the 300. I will lock you out of my toolboxes until the day I die if you don’t buy this truck” so I did because my Pontiac wasn’t going to fix itself and my dad has a lot of money that I couldn’t pay in tools 😂. The Pontiac’s engine gave out and I’m still driving that F-250 today at 25 years old with 403,000 miles on it. I now have two other trucks and a mustang and still trust my I6 as a daily driver/utility truck over anything else. After this video I’m thinking about making my 82 F-150 my daily while I build the 300 because this seems interesting to play around with.
I don’t see any smog or egr how does it run so well?
Throw a turbo on her 🤤
How much would you charge to do this to my 300? 😁
I hope to build one soon
Outstanding
No no no buzzin half dozen name belongs to the Detroit Diesel 6-71
I really enjoyed this and want that engine for my 66 Mustang mated to a six speed trans. But, what carburetor did you use? You went from water pump to dyno.
Can a 300 in line 6 be fuel injected and supercharged ? If so, would that help or be detrimental to performance ?
Airplane engine? What is the weight? This seems like a perfect Cessna 172 replacement engine. I know its not STC ed but for experimental it seems good and reliable. Maybe even in a VANS RV-10. .
Dude build me an engine please
How much was this all together? A rebuilt crate Is around $2300.00.
How much total with all the extras added.
just wondering, with that rebuild, would this engine be just as reliable as the original?
Water pump packing. Old school stuff
I’d buy that for a dollar!!!!! 👍
For the new guys, this is the Ford, gasoline version of the 5.9 12v Cummins. if it were smaller and N/A.
At 2:33 the guy uses the channel locks backwards!! Can’t believe nobody noticed that he can’t even turn a wrench omg!!
How would this build do with towing??
I wanna swap a ford 200 with an NA 300. The barra looks cool, but very expensive due to imports. Too bad we never got a modern fully realized ford i6. Damn reliable engine.
300 I6 was THE best, most reliable engine I ever owned. Had it in a 1996 F150 I bought new, drove it 490k miles, replaced only an A/C compressor before I sold the truck in 2016 and the guy who bought it drives it to this day in 2023.
I want that in my 95 Econoline.
I’m not familiar with these engines, but why is it keeling over at 5000 RPM? With these flow modifications should it not be making power the higher you rev it?
What is the full dressed out weight of a 300 6?
what could have been done to get 300 HP and still run on pump gas ??
I wish that the Vortec 4200 had this level of aftermarket support. I slept on it but recently got one to play with, seems like a much better engine than this 300ci unless you are still using it for a higher torque application.
yay another thing for me to chase
30 seconds into the video I stopped eh .. Simply because I saw the white block paint scheme and went retro to my very old Kemworth A model with a white factory painted CAT block. It is such a great memory to see this eh
I had one of these in a 72 convertible mustang, 3 speed on the floor. I used to pull a boat with it. It wasn’t a screamer motor, but made lots of torque
Why didn't you cut down 3 Boss heads and weld them together to make the ultimate head set up. They were getting over 600 hp in 1970 with this engine no power adders
I love my Old 1974 Ford F250 with its DRW's and granny gear.
I love its simple 300 i6, single barrel Stromberg and points distributor.
Although Its computer is many years older than the F'truck and may have a few blown fuses it keeps it going suck, squeeze, bang, blow.
Unique Aussie Built T'truck from Imported and Locality Sourced Parts.
Do you guys do work for the public and how does one contact you?
Can you put that engine in a 1966 mustang?
Inline 6 banger, pushrod engine, no chains, nomuliple cams. Simple, long lived powerplants. Bring em back.
Yea Pat spicy sweet chili are the best Doritos
