I found an amazing deal on a 1976 Arctic Cat Pantera 5000 snowmobile. This vintage sled has been sitting in a shed and was last licensed in 1999. It appears to be in really good shape. I’m going to attempt to get it running, and immediately put it in the ditch FULL THROTTLE!

That looked like at least 65
Stared watching you old videos because you not doing a video every two days anyway the older videos have a non commercial aspect.cheers
I know this is an old video, but YES more of this stuff in addition to all the other great content. Growing up in Ohio by the Michigan border, and now living in the south, i really miss being able to go out and rip some snow. Great name for the sled too!
Hahahaha that has no business being that fast
Nice
My First Sled. Far and away my favorite. Reliable, fast for the day. Mine had electric start which was awesome. Loved that sled. Sold it to a guy who wrecked it the first day he owned it.
A 500 cc free air
That gas sniff even gave me the chills.
I used to use dryer sheets in my sled as well. It really helped keep the mice out of my '88 wildcat when stored in rural Wisconsin.
Bang some ditches… that doesn't sound right…. but it's too late now. 😂
Hey the dryer sheets are to detour rats and little mice from chewing on wires
Proper name indeed…
Dryer sheets actually do work 100%.
Those late 70s Pantera's were a great ol sled!
@vice grip garage
Hey Derek would you like to sell the ol girl?
This stuff always freaks me out with the helmet appearing to remain stationary with the camera, and the machine flapping and floating all over the place!
Nice find brother definitely more sled content. Thanks for sharing 👍
Definitely looks like a dime.
Really enjoyed it. More please.
More sled content!!!!! And yes dryer sheets work amazing and smell good lol
C'mon man, get into that powerband!
In the late 70s my dads friend had a Artic Cheetah for him and a Panther for his wife to ride….they were both awesome snowmobiles.
Motor sounds good riding those ditches.
You should of put some oil down them cylinders
This channel used to be so much more relatable. Just my opinion though
Definitely more sled content
To keep mice away, cotton balls soaked with peppermint or wintergreen essential oil. It definitely works.
If it's that clean the Drier Sheets and Mothballs worked.
🤘
D the first 12 years of my life was in Idaho and the Polaris we had I will smile. The memory I had was a nice finger drift my dad and I shot through.well long story short I picked myself up and I had two snow bullets in my nose. Thank you for the memory
Really enjoy the video of repairing the vintage sled. I have old sleds and do some repairing. I learned a couple things from your video of cleaning the carbs. I hope you do more videos of old sleds.
Need to find a triple two stroke
The clutch will be junk
What ever happened to the v8 sled
Owned the same one. Crazy amount of fun on it almost died a handful of times 😅
That looks like fun I know it is
The sound of funny coming out of your mouth lol 😆
(Wiss) alsome fun cool go fast🚧🏎️🏁🇺🇲
I’ve used dryer sheets for years, seems to work pretty good
Derek, I’ve spent the last 15 years blind in my left eye from a stupid accident. With just one eye a guy can live his life but the quality is diminished somewhat, mainly because you lose your depth of field, meaning you can’t judge how far away things are. That makes welding and soldiering in particular really tough. And you can’t catch a ball or play ping pong worth a hoot. So when you are cleaning out carbs, do yourself a favor and wear safety goggles because you know how that stuff blows back on you. I sure wish I could go back in myself!
The second generation Pantera chassis has a special aluminum bulkhead that keeps the motor planted. No twisting on the mounts when all the horses are let loose. They built the XC racer out of this chassis for two seasons . As such, the chassis makes a great basis for a vintage twin drag sled. It’s much easier to keep the CVT clutches aligned with the lack of flex, and it’s a light tub. Swap out the skid for a newer aluminum off of an El Tigre , add a rubber track and modernize the clutches and hop up the engine and you can have quite the vintage weapon for short turf strip drags. I’ve always felt Cat made a mistake not updating this chassis but keeping the stiff engine cradle. Instead I guess the bean counters won and the next gen was just a widened El Tigre bulkhead with a Panther tunnel. This tub was made for 1976 to 1979 models. Pantera 500 FA and 500 FC and 1976 340 FA Cross Country and 1977 LC 340 Cross Country factory racers.
BRAWOO
More yes…I like the snowmobile and 2 stroke stuff to..!
Love that you named it Darrel, as in Dimebag Darrel of Pantera. It does have a vulgar display of power m/!
Alright we gotta stop with the will it run we know they're gonna run you guys are all gifted mechanics with enough starting fluid and tenacity.
