In this episode of the #FairmontProject I wrap up the frame connectors. Last time I didn’t complete the work because I wanted to come up with a solution for the shorter Mustang frame connectors. My Fairmont is about 4″ longer than a Mustang. My solution was to add some home made extensions to the existing frame connectors. These extensions didn’t do much for the sag I get in the body when I put the car on the lit, but it did provide some piece of mind as well as more rigidity to the rear chassis.
Now that this work is complete, it’s time to turn my attention back to the Mustang. I think the next step in the series is to remove the engine and transmission from that so I can go through them and get them ready for install into the Fairmont.
For now the Fairmont is running and driving great. I’m going to keep driving it as much as I can till the swap is complete.
