thank god I just put a oil catch can in mine
Great video, I can tell you have alot of knowledge in a shop!
"The only fluid I have not done is…" you forgot brake fluid. It's so often neglected but it's the one that degrades the most over time, and can give a huge performance and even safety benefit when flushing it out.
I think the port cleaner needed to be fed further upstream in the intake so it distributed better through the plenum. Not that it would have made a noticeable difference, but in theory it'd be better.
I had good luck with CRC product. my mazda 3 ran totally different for the better..
Best MAF sensor humor cleaning 😂
Can I beg you to fix my is Lexus for me please 😢
I can't believe this video is already 3 years old. Feels like I was watching it just yesterday.
My 2013 IS250 has 230k miles on her, runs and drives great 😊. I clean the lower intake and intake valves every year and change synthetic oil every 5k or 6 months. She gets 32 mpg, but I don't push her hard. Plus, it's a beautiful car!
How does this clean carbon that manages to sneak into the edges of the valves and interrupts the actual seal? How do you remove that with a closed valve? Or does it tend to flake off (into the engine?!) when visible carbon right above it is removed?
Alex how much to do my wife’s IS 250 2008 model???
I need your help
Hi brother can u give me your ph number
Thoughts on just spraying small amounts of water into the same large booster line to clean carbon?
How long did this process take you to do?
you're awesome bro. i have both model in your channel. the C55 and the IS250😂😂

Hi, just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for you're video. I time-stamped the important points to help me do this carbon removal service.
Lol that's a Valvoline syn3 fluid sold at express oil change and tire engineers niiiice
Do you think using Berryman ChemDip to soak the piston tops and the cylinder is a good idea? Like how some of the youtubers did?
But this engine doesn't run on lower octane 3:35
watching this video brings me confidence to clean my intake valves on my is250, seems simple enough just gotta be patient
You should have used the port that had the rubber cap on it
yep those are the original denso plugs… I suspect that white crap is also carbon… just a bit more burnt
Where did you find the torque specs for lower intake manifold?
I have to point out something that bothered me a bit @12:40 removal of the aluminum plenum and the lower manifold, but with the engine hot or warm… not a good idea as the possibility exists, that one or both surfaces could warp as they cool down and possibly affect the sealing surfaces. Most people know not to remove a cylinder head unless it is overnight cold for the same reason, but other engine parts are not immune –
No more carbon buildup, yeah, but you brushed the soft materials off so nicely with steel wire that they are not smooth anymore and the next carbon buildup is coming up again VERY SOON! Not a good job, you could do a better job avoiding to damage the softer materials.
17:10 please what’s the right order what position should i put the crank
Throttle body clean might not hurt either, but great work.
Cleaning the mass air flow sensor will improve your fuel economy I clean my every 6 months or so . I’ve owned my car 3 or 4 years now take pictures of everything you do while you maintenance the car so many parts don’t forget all the Allen bolts on the top manifold cover .
how much will it cost now at days to clean up the carbon build up manually just like u did, without the first step that did not clean it at all if u dont mind me asking??
nice, you broke the flap for the cabin filter.
Fantastic video! I would have definitely replaced the fluid though (NOT FLUSH).
What an awesome video with real in depth detail of all the scope of work. This IS 250 is very sought after car in my country Singapore. Out of curiosity , How is the condition of the fuel pressure sensor which is quite a common problem know in this car . is it working or already replaced.
This is my favorite YouTube channel for sure. Alex, thanks Excellent content and keeping it clean so me and my son can watch it together. Good stuff
At a boy Alex another safe running car back on the road 🎉
I wonder if cleaning the intakes with dry ice would be a good option
Scrolling thrugh Utube looking for informative information on Catalytic converter related references I came across this video. As a owner of a 007 #Lexus #IS350 for the last 6 (with 177,850 miles) years i found this video very informative to say the least. Needless to say ive done most of what you just did. 😂 I've invested about 10K into upgrades, proformance parts and just premantive maintenance items and services. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us all. Im going backwards to see if i can find you're other two videos and im looking forward to seeing the detail video you mentioned. Alex is a guru with oldies and complicated cars. Love this car show and I just wish that there was more and longer videos😊
ALEX, TELL ME SOMETHING, DO THESE ENGINES EVER ANSWER YOU AFTER YOU TALK TO THEM. YOU KEEP ME LAUGHING WHEN YOU WORK ON ENGINES. I LOVE IT.
I used palmolive soap and water in my jag plenum . it cuts the grease !!😂 worked great!
Oven cleaner?
Like cleaning your bbq!!
If been a watcher for a long time and I've recently subscribed again I love his channel it restores confidence in the fact that 90% of the things you can do yourself with a friend and a torque wrench and he shows you the actual work and helpful information
I use that same chemical at my shop for direct injection engines. It has worked miracles.
I clean the MAS every oil change and use electrical contact cleaner to do it. It's safe for plastics and evaporates faster than any other cleaner I've used
How you insure your intake valves are 100% in closed position? Do you set the cylinder on TDC. For an example I have Honda Odyssey v6 and on front cam I have markings when turning a engine over by hand I line up the marking with cylinder number I’m working. If I’m correct this will insure that both intake and exhaust valves are closed? Thanks for great videos
