  1. I lost both rear wheels on the left side of my dually truck at 70 mph. That was much more excitement than I was prepared for on that particular day. But only one of the 8 studs was broken. Insurance company determined it was vandalism, someone had removed the other 7 then stuck the hubcap back on so they weren’t visible. Just how badly did I piss someone off? I never found one of the wheels, how far does one go when it unattaches at 70?

  2. How ironic ! I had almost the same thing happen in 81 to my 68 Chevelle except it was the front, suddenly no brakes and very shakey steering. I felt fortunate that I was able to get her stopped and parked I had passengers I was responsible for🥵 dyammmm so sorry that happened to her Derek.

  3. My brother and I did sick ward this year and had a blast watching and doing the drive. We tried to get my camaro there, but time and weather in Wisconsin didn't work on our favor. But we plan to try to do it next year! It was cool to see you guys there and hope you had an amazing week as well!

  4. hey derrick ,i was watching you put in the gas tank on the 540 chevelle. and i noticed the gold duster sitting on the lift. i thought you gave it away. i wanted to enter to win but didnt see it was to late…so whats it doing in your shop if you gave it away ??

  5. I had a wheel pop all the lugs,it was an Oldsmobile wheel on a 68 Pontiac. Come to find out the bolt patern was off slightly….pex

  6. Dude ..I'm like having mixed feelings ..I love your station and what you do I be so pissed when they don't make it I'm like so unfair ..agghhhh..I want to see u win Everytime ….but I know it's not always likely …keep up the good work …thank yoh

  7. Learn to double and triple your lug nuts on any vehicle shortly after you change the tire and wheel especially on race vehicles. Sometimes the wheel can feel really tight but maybe there was like a piece of rust or dirt or debree or a metal Burr that was behind the wheel or the rotor and it starts to crush or fall out and then the wheel just becomes loose.😮

  8. Random thought for independence rear quarters. Have you thought of putting in a beefy inner tubs? That would take the abuse of a blown tire without destroying the already damaged outer quarters

  9. 18:53 "we run at 134,07 Mph 135 we can't go faster.." That's not Dragracing in Dragracing you go as fast as you can to win, not by holding back in fear of going to fast.
This is Bracket Racing, which is similsr to Dragracing but is another Motorsport and should be kept away from Dragracing events in whole.

  10. Love that true Posi rear end you ain't doing that on no one wheel wonder. I really wish I knew y'all were in Gainesville I would have sat on the side of the road to see y'all. , Would say I'd of help ya get wr going but you broke down close to your friends shop.

  11. late to watching this, but cars that do lots of burnouts/donuts or whippin' $#!tties, should have the rear wheel studs replaced once in a while, as they get subjected to loads they arent designed for.

  12. I remember the video of you trying to get what was a defeated old Chevelle started in a motel parking lot and now it's running 10's.
That's the coolest thing ever, Derek.

  13. Might try and see if you can get the bags of beads used in heavy 50 in tires and wheels especially when it's 500 lbs and they don't have lb clip on qheel weights but they work well as they are reusable and they work well as semis and busses use them but just to see the mark on tire usually is the heavy spot some people think it's where the valve stem should go but as a teenager I was a big certified tech for super shops was the jegs or summit race car parts of the day as well as selling just about anything needed to go fast and only BFGs and sticky Mickeys and they were the only place to go get your nitrous bottle filled and buy a couple sets of slicks but this was when West Palm Beach raceway was moroso as it will be forever if you are from Florida I feel your 134 mph I have a 600rr and you have to run leather pants for 100 mph if you have a sub 3 sec 0-60 even in the 660 it's no fun to get to the track and get to drive slower than the ride to the track 😂

  14. I´m a bit jealous to be honest. Do stuff like this here in Germany and you will end up in jail or at least loose your license for ever. :/

  15. I have picked up a lot of good knowledge from you Derek, but this is the first time I think I had some knowledge you lacked. THOSE LUG NUTS AND STUDS WERE INCORRECT. You need the CORRECT lug nuts with 90 degree clamping face and washer for that style alloy wheel, they clamp against the counterbore of the lug nut hole. No ridiculously long studs are required either. Those tapered wheel lug nuts are WRONG for those rims. I was warned of this as a young fella in the early 1980s. The scrutineers for your drag racing should have picked this error up too! Lucky it was a low speed separation! 140mp/h would have been nasty!
