In this video, I buy a $9,000 engine for my SVT Lightning off eBay Motors! We take some of the engine apart, look inside to inspect its condition and then fire it up while it sits on a wooden pallet. Enjoy the madness and let me know if you’ve ever replaced an engine.

  1. I know why the head and the intake don't line up its because the triton engine is what ford calls a modular motor so the heads are the same casting so they don't make left and right heads they make one head and one head is backwards that's the thermostat housing hole on the driver side head but there no hole on the back side passenger's block so its a dead hole and some intake cover it up and some don't I'm not a real mechanic but 1000 hours of mechanic YouTube later and here we are

  2. $9k for a junkyard engine? For a Ford ? Honestly I wouldn't pay that much for a used engine specially for a Ford I'd rather overhaul the engine is a big project to risk it for a junkyard engine especially for that amount and resale value of that truck is not that great either so unless you plan to keep it don't blow to much money on it . Good luck

  3. Rods on order ? For fucks sake for what you spent on an unknown condition engine you could have stuffed a set of crower rods or carrillo rods instead of just a run of the mill set of manley H beams .. and yes you bought manley pistons and most assuredly you ordered manley rods because you are not a mechanic or engine builder you go by what you see on the internet. you should have purchased a long block ..and no did not watch the video yet to see if you spent wisely.

  4. It's a pet peeve of mine when people don't clean the spark plug area BEFORE taking them out, because it's such an easy thing to do. You can clearly see what happens when you don't @ 15:40. It's quite a destructive thing to have all that crap in the cylinder, can easily ruin an otherwise perfectly good engine in no time. I mean, thousands of $$$ of damage because you can't take an extra minute to blow all that crap out??? 🤬

  5. They key restriction from stock to making real power after mods is the cams, of course you gotta add heads, etc. My friend made 750/775 with foxlake heads, custom cams, 2.6 Kenne Bell. 60 lb injectors and dual pumps. It put down 350 stock on the same dyno.
