  1. This has genuinely been one of my favourite car repair series on youtube, theres loads of conventional restorations available but fixing a concept car like this is so unique and cool seems a shame to give up on it.

  2. Scam Van should be the name of it! This is a disgrace to America quality! I’m not surprised that it failed. That CEO should be ashamed! That’s probably why he wants it. So he can delete it from the face of the earth. Thankfully after this video, it will always be known!

  3. A friend of mine from many years ago had 2 concept cars. One was a Chrysler, and one was a Cadillac. Both cars were one-off cars that were never put into production. He aquired them years after they were produced and sat on back lots somewhere. They were both all most like new condition except the one had a damaged taillight outer pot metal housing was broken. He had to cast the part to replace it because they never used that part except on that one-off car.
He got both cars super cheap. But i couldn't talk him out of either car.

  4. Binge watching your channel, this series has been great fun watching you go from draining the oil and checking the spark plugs – as you'd normally do to get a read on a car's condition – and then see you gradually adapt to the reality of the vehicle, to the point where you finally ask yourself "what 'function' even means!"
Amazing positivity and tenacity alongside your usual troubleshooting prowess. I wonder if you would ever try something like this again knowing what you'd be getting yourself into?

  5. Watching this whole mess 9 months later. Looks to me like Bright blew a bunch of smoke up the governments ass. They got their money and when that money ran out they scrapped the whole project. If he wants to now how much its worth? What the motor and trans is worth and what the 77 miles of copper wire is worth

  6. Maybe you can pay the CEO guy just to come and get it.
Just Johnny Neumonic the hard drive, plug charger and hard drive or SSD drive into wired helmet like the old electric chair "Old Sparkey", and upload data into your conscience

  7. The speeds of the two drives are probably the same. 500-550 Mbps. A mechanical drive (HDD) is about 100 Mbps. Nowadays we use m.2 NVME drives that are 1500 – 8000 Mbps. If you have a m.2 SATA (before NVME) it is the same as an SSD…550 Mbps

  8. It is amazing the progress you have made, Alex. Resurrected a truly defunct, one of a kind vehicle. The hybrid EV to gas engine switchover probably can be solved, but don't give up your other projects to do it. Have really enjoyed this series, something different and relevant to EVs. Please let us know what happened to the Bright Idea and where it is landing.

  9. I haven't watched the full video yet, but the Caliber 1.8 could be ordered with an auto stop/start module on it. I haven't seen you trying to start the engine with e-brake off / foot brake on / in gear and accelerator depressed. Just telling the software to switch on the engine isn't enough.
