I bought this Chrysler (mopar) sight unseen. It’s been sitting in a barn untouched for 22 years. The 1981 Imperial was a one year only fuel injected 318 engine. I’m going to try get this running, driving, and attempt to get 950 miles back home!

I like to a guy using a older boat ! ! ! You don't need 100000 dollar to go fishing !
Bro came through my hometown and I had no idea he was here. Hope you liked Carlisle. Lived here all my life and the car show is a headache as a local.
They converted it they didn’t run right with the throttle body my uncle bought his brand new in 81 same problem
It was 4 hours after these new extra long commercialators playing every 10 minutes 🙄
You should have used the cattle nipple but the nipple towards the tank mini seal with whatever you can find boom problem solved
mark worman would know…
love your McIver" skills, you should send a thank letter to O'Reiley's/NAPA for having so many stores
i love a good automotive comedy
Not many people remember that the C4 was kicked out of the SCCA showroom stock racing class. One of the first cars with aluminum suspension parts (1984), Tuned Port Fuel Injected V8 (1985) and anti-lock brakes (1986). Porsche, Lotus and other manufacturers got tired of losing every weekend. In 1988, SCCA introduced the Corvette Challenge to satisfy the other manufacturers. The C4 was way ahead of the competition. Future video?
What a great episode! I LOL'd when you made the comment about Mustangs and light poles flying, and I cheered when I saw the Imperial sitting in front of the shop
I can’t believe you accidentally found Carlisle DURING a meet! 😃 I’m in Maryland, and we go at least once a year.

Plus I'd dump a can of seafoam in the tank.
I have ran seafoam in the crankcase for a week to help clean the guts. I haven't had any issues so far and I've been using the products since 1993
Derek, take that poor nasty chrysler thru the car wash.
Derek, Derek, Derek… I'm catching allot of your videos or you rescuing your cars, and a couple of questions. FIRST THINGS FIRST (catch my drift)… 1. Why not open the doors and let it air out first thing ? 2. Why not wash the cars first ? 3. What is your personal car count and list ? Is it on any internet site ? 4. Why not mail your supplies in advance (including tools [and Leatherman]) ?
Thanks for the content. Although, I would have preferred 3hrs of the Pantera, as opposed to one of the ugliest cars ever designed.
So I first saw you on millennial farmer getting a couple of snow mobiles going. I waited a week or so to check out your website. So I choose this particular video figuring I would give it a few minutes and see what you are about. 3 hours later I am subscribed and made sure to like your video. Totally awesome and I appreciate how calm a guy is facing such a challenge! Thanks!
you could make a pressurized fuel tank swisher down the fill tube make it happener to swish out the old fuel -suck it out and clean the tank without removing it. Love your videos live out west of Nashvegas.
That is a beautiful car even all dusty ❤
Man, this is better than watching NFL football 😂
This 1981 Chrysler Imperial is one of the last of the large, wonderful American cars.
Put a 440ci V8 in it?
What's in the loft brother ?
I had an old Vega with debris in the gas tank that would slowly gather on the pickup sock until the car stalled. For mostly local driving the problem wouldn't happen cus some of what gathered on the sock would fall away when the car was off overnight. I was replacing fuel filters, not knowing what was really going on. So we went on a road trip and it became an issue. I don't know where I got the Idea but I found that when the engine quit, I could beat the bottom of the gas tank with a big stick, the car would go a few hundred miles before it happened again. We got it home that way
These old Chryslers were the worst cars ever made
Speed skates. Those were the deal back in the day. lol
Even after sitting for decades It's Literally in better condition than a 2024 Chrysler 200.
Congrats you two. To quote "Lost in Translation"
"Your life, as you know it… is gone. Never to return. But they learn how to walk, and they learn how to talk, and you want to be with them. And they turn out to be the most delightful people you will ever meet in your life." God bless your growing family. Hang in there Gus, she will be your best friend before you know it

I work on cars all my life I enjoy watching your videos
Watching this riding out huricane Helena in fl, been a little rowdy, power out, but we keep trucking in Jesus name!
Jeez, how old do you have to be before you say: "I'm gettin' too old for this?"
Thankfully, you are still "young enough." Be well, Derek.
Awesome Job, Derek! #1 To watch in my book! Hope the knee is better!😊
Chrysler Comments ! You talked about weird engineering and brake lines was the example . Why would they do stuff like that ?
I believe that all the engineers and Directors at American automakers WANTED golden hand shakes and pensions.
There is no other reason for some of the ridiculous choices these manufacturers made.
Listen to Warren Buffet, Munger and other leading business critics explain how American business matured until we were left with incompetent directors living in a delusional world and being rewarded for poor performance and out of touch with consumers.
Today we are all driving Japanese Cars. The only reason we still drive American Trucks is because they don’t drive pickup trucks in Japan and Europe.
I like how you used the diesel green pump at around 2:58. Unless… did a station really use a green pump for unleaded???
I will watch the whole videos that he does. He leaved ya in suspense, especially in this one. For all the fuel issues, he always figures something out to keep moving his feet
