9. Not many people remember that the C4 was kicked out of the SCCA showroom stock racing class. One of the first cars with aluminum suspension parts (1984), Tuned Port Fuel Injected V8 (1985) and anti-lock brakes (1986). Porsche, Lotus and other manufacturers got tired of losing every weekend. In 1988, SCCA introduced the Corvette Challenge to satisfy the other manufacturers. The C4 was way ahead of the competition. Future video?

24. I had an old Vega with debris in the gas tank that would slowly gather on the pickup sock until the car stalled. For mostly local driving the problem wouldn't happen cus some of what gathered on the sock would fall away when the car was off overnight. I was replacing fuel filters, not knowing what was really going on. So we went on a road trip and it became an issue. I don't know where I got the Idea but I found that when the engine quit, I could beat the bottom of the gas tank with a big stick, the car would go a few hundred miles before it happened again. We got it home that way

34. Chrysler Comments ! You talked about weird engineering and brake lines was the example . Why would they do stuff like that ?
    I believe that all the engineers and Directors at American automakers WANTED golden hand shakes and pensions.
    There is no other reason for some of the ridiculous choices these manufacturers made.
    Listen to Warren Buffet, Munger and other leading business critics explain how American business matured until we were left with incompetent directors living in a delusional world and being rewarded for poor performance and out of touch with consumers.
    Today we are all driving Japanese Cars. The only reason we still drive American Trucks is because they don’t drive pickup trucks in Japan and Europe.
