Many people have abandoned watches, now having more accurate time and auto adjust to DTS on smartphones. I don't think people are going to want to wear something large enough on their wrist to be useful. They won't want to keep another thing charged. Won't want to keep it dry, and try to get a shirt cuff over it.
I think the wrist is too far from ear or eye. I think the future is in speech recognition and much smarter Bluetooth ear buds/hands-free devices. That ties in with more powerful processors that manufacturers survive on selling.
