Can you get better fuel economy with a fuel additive? In this video, we make YouTube History by testing a fuel additive to see if it will actually give you better fuel economy. I sent out 20 bottles of the fuel additive to my subscribers to test their fuel economy. They went a total of 56,000 miles and the results are in! Here is the product I used: http://goo.gl/V16Hu3
The test was proven to be statistically significant using a T-test by subscriber SX L after dopping the volvo outlier which means we got an average of .54mpg increase.

when i go to fill my tank i always change to aditive / no aditive each time, so i keep the things clean inside
You got to do a a t test to get a actually conclusion. What you did is a descriptive statistics and something not to conclude from statistically speaking. But I'd put my money that it doesn't work
Hey, you should do a test like that with full synthetic oils that claim to boost fuel economy!
MMO, Marvel Mystery Oil in the crank case and in the gas tank. 1x or 2x a month of recommended amount in gas tank and replace a quart of oil with MMO at oil change. You'll notice a difference and it's inexpensive. Better overall engine performance and improved gas mileage. Keeps everything lubed and clean. ðŸ‘ÂÂ😉
A 3rd test would be needed, yes? …once again without fuel additive. Then we would could see if cleaning fuel system is the only thing it does. Just my humble opinion.
Is it worth the 1mpg.. divide the cost by the total number of miles.. I don’t think that liquid in a bottle is worth it.
WE HERE JUST BURNED 50K+ MILES TO RUIN THE ENVIRONMENT TO SAVE IT. LMAO
you know fuel economy matters on many other factors. Wind, Teperature, Humidity, Traffc, How much you ATE!
Hey Chris if you are interested in testing this additive in a russian car please contact me. I have a lada niva 2002 1.7 gas and it also has lpg fuel mode.
This stuff is amazing. Not only did i get better mpg, but my grey hair is gone, i sleep better at night and Mr. Woodrow is at full salute all the time. Thank you Jesus.
Tht engine bay with reverse pop ups caught me off-guard.
Anyone wanna talk about how this guy is more of a scientist than real scientists?
Love the concept of this video, how you broke down the data, and even included some subscribers. That’s dope!
Surely if you put an additional half a litre of fluid in the tank ( that being the additive) the fluid level in the tank will be half a litre more. So when you refill, the available volume in the tank is less . Hence, the refill costs less and gives the impression of a great economy of gas mileage ?
Great video! I’ll save my $. The cost of the product should be figured into cost per gallon as well. Gaining a mile and it costing more? So many variables!
Clearly some of these testers haven't got the slightest idea what they are doing. No, you're not getting an 11mpg increase, not in any car, not under any circumstances. No, not because it cleaned the injectors – if they were that bad the car would barely run, and then that isn't really a fair test! If this really worked this well, car manufacturers would require this to meet ever increasing EPA requirements, and the EPA would simply require it in all gasoline like they do with other cleaning additives. And if that was really true, this would be a multi-billion dollar company or would be bought by one. You think Shell oil simply hasn't heard of this and they aren't interested in buying it to either market it or stop marketing it? They have the resources to test this far, far, far better than any of your subscribers. All the big names spend literal billions of dollars to increase their fuel economy by a fraction of a MPG…obviously they would just tell you to add this to every tank if it worked that easy!
When doing "scientific" tests like this it is normal to throw out the results from extreme outliers, obviously they screwed something up. The placebo effect is strong, that's why there is so much of this crap for sale at places like Walmart. Everybody's car runs better after they wash it. My mom SWEARS she gets better gas mileage with a full tank of gas, this isn't possible and doesn't make any sense, and she doesn't know enough about cars to determine this in the first place – but she will argue to the death about it. She's never measured miles and divided by gallons in her life, but yet, she knows without any doubt whatsoever you get better gas mileage with a full tank of gas. She is also 100% wrong…but it doesn't stop her from telling everybody she knows…
Awsome dude. Thx for the info.
I wish to thank chris fix for all his videos you have helped me numerous times– MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR too you MR FIX and everyone else– THANK YOU
As an automotive enthusiast and a college student with units in statistics, I am really impressed
I tried it on my station wagon and it I went from 26 miles per gallon to 36 miles per gallon I got never really been what’s the worm do you know no and on the road eight years worked so well.
Collect 1.5mn dollars and buy a boeing 747-400i and learn about aircraft it will help you
I wonder if this would damage a hybrid car
I bought a fuel additive special offer 1 litre for price of 500ml for £3. It claimed mpg improved by 3% on an average 40 litre tank. It worked!…turns out it was just fuel though.
i tried it on my boxster and it worked amazingly well. before the additive i got an average of 25ish mpg and after the additive i got an average of 27ish mpg
You really did a lot of work to provide us accurate research data!
Thank You So MUCH for this hard work! ðŸ™ÂÂðŸÂ½
How you make a Ford truck 250gr
I have noticed if you take care of your car with regular maintenance, these fuel system cleaners typically do not help. Just from my testing over the years
Nice. Can you try this with Liquid Molly fuel additive/ cleaner. I’ll get I. On that one lol
I've never used this clean boost Maxx but we have 6 vehicles in our family which is representative of this test and used the Lucas gas additive that I buy by the gallon on amazon: 2013 Hyundai elantra, 2010 Acura TSX, 2015 Nissan Frontier truck, 2008 Chevy Corvette, 1998 Mercedes SLK230, and last but not least a 1998 Dodge Pleasure way class B RV. I find a greater than 2 mpg in my vehicles but noticed the engine's run noticeably smoother with better performance. The smaller engines seem to get the best improvement and the RV the least improvement. Cost is important as the gallon size only runs $25. I prefill a 5 oz bottle so I can make 25 of these 5 oz bottles for a buck each.
A bit late to the party here, but it does make sense. This is probably an octane booster and fuel system cleaner combined into one bottle, going by what was said. Neither of those cause more fuel to be dumped into the engine (unless the injectors didn't flow right at first), so it shouldn't cause a decrease in economy. However, if the engine can make use of the higher octane then it'll get more effective power out of that same amount of fuel, resulting in a more efficient engine overall. And this leads to that "best of both worlds" scenario, where you have more power from the same amount of fuel, or less fuel for the same amount of power.
But of course octane boosters can be a waste of money, I've noticed they're sometimes even a YEAR past the expiry date(!!!) by the time you buy the bottle. So check that very carefully.
That corvette look good tho

is there something like this product for real cars? i mean, ones with carburetors and no computers? I have a 72 mg with a high performance engine with 9 to 1 compression. My engine technician told me i need to get my fuel from an air port. wondering if there is something on the market like this for older cars. I checked out this one but it says its for fuel injected cars.
Most additives need at least one full fuel tank used before the magic happens. Only things that have instant results are better quality fuel/formulations and acetone.
So according to the sheet of paper if you have a Honda don't bother. You will get the same result or worse mpg after adding it.
What happens when you use too much
I have noticed it works better on my two Toyota cars then my Honda or dodge it's true it depends on the car brand
